LOL @ people we don't like!

Actually, two people who know about (and pray for my T) actually had their T get worse recently. They were like, "Actually, since I have been praying for you my T has gotten worse." :(

Interestingly, since word of my T has gotten out to friends, family, and aquaintances, these people (most of whom live in my small town) have told me they also have T (and I never knew it!):

Sarah (age 25--can cover it up at night with fans)
Jerry (56--super-tinnitus--like a buzzer at the end of a basketball game in both ears and never stops)
Amy (55--getting it in her other ear now, too)
Leslie (50--whining florescent light sound in one ear)
Ron (60--had it for 15 years, it went away for years, now back off and on)
Schuyler (62--had it and recently it's getting louder)
My dad (78--never mentioned he had it)
My hubby's dad (76--ditto!)
Joyce's husband (now deceased--had VERY bad super-T)
David (58--he's an ENT!)
Jimmie (63--she gets it off and on in one ear)
Katie (26--gets it off and on in one ear)
Chris (54--has otosclerosis and pretty loud buzzing T)
Keri (45--woke up with sudden hearing loss and T in one ear)
Tonya (40--mother of 5 boys)
Janyth's dad (they discovered he had a cyst in his sinus; once he got that removed his T stopped!)
Tom (56--said his T sounds like static on a radio)
Joanne's sister (50--Meniere's)

I'm forgetting a few, I know. It's just helps to prove, I guess, that the statistics of how many people have T in the US is probably correct!

Wow, McMurdo, this is starting to look like t is an epidemic. Has it really gone to such proportions?

Wow Mc! It just goes to show how we suffer in silence until somebody speaks about it the flood gates open. I only know two other people with it....a friends hubby who has Super T for 15 years and my mom who gets it off and on but it's fairly low for the most part.

My husband after finding out I had tinnitus said he has a low ring in his ears for some time but ignores it. My sister said she bent over and had a loud ring come in to her ear and it went away and she has had bouts of it when sick. My mother said she heard drumming noise in her ear that went away. I think many people have some form of low tinnitus that isnt bothersome and they just think of it as significant and then others whose is much more prominent. Many of the people in McMurdo's post are older as well ages 40-78 and a couple that are younger. Hearing loss as you age can bring on tinnitus as well as vascular problems, high blood pressure, and the list goes on. There are probably more people with tinnitus than we are truly aware of it. It would not surprise me to do a poll in my neighborhood and find others with it. Judy
