I thought it was already available in Japan and a couple of European countries? At least Kevin Hogan says carvorene hydrochloride under the name Tinnerex is available in these countries in his book on page 178. It is a glutamate inhibitor. I hope it gets approved by the US FDA!!

I couldn't get any info on that website about tinnitus research. There were lots of other listings not pertaining to tinnitus. Can you be more specific or am I just missing it. Thanks Bob for keeping up with the latest possibilities. It is always so uplifting. You're the best.

McMurdo - Kevin Hogan is known for making $75.00 an hour for phone consults - he has been reported on some sites as not being honest, manipulative and exploitive.

I traced him along the WWW - he appears to be giving tons of free advice - I take it you bought his book -

I don't know - a lot of people became wary and kind of wrote him off - but maybe - his book - maybe - it was useful?

If you bought the book guys - let that suffice - don't call his phone - he asks for a credit card number up front - he runs it through the machine while making small talk and if it goes through - you give verbal permission to accept the $75.00 - 2 hours minimum - $150.00 to talk with him about your tinnitus - the first hour is listening to you go through your health history and what you have already tried.

He could be sincere - maybe he helped people.

The only tinnitus resource - I found - where I believed the person is that Tortured by Sound book by Carol Brooke - but then again, many on this site said she was so whiney - they skimmed to the last 50 pages - figured out what she did for a cure - and then tossed it in the thrift store bin -

Yeah, another fellow - a musician claimed to have tinnitus - wrote a 250 page tome - and was selling consults on the internet - he came under heavy fire - I use to see his name every time I googled tinnitus - how much did he pay Google for that? But I forgot his name - want to say David ?"

Well, I considered buying his book - here was his byline: "everything anyone told you that would cure tinnitus is a lie....buy my book to see the only way to silence there is...."

Austria, Switzerland and Japan are the three other countries that recognize caroverine as a drug but I think only India has approved it for tinnitus. I hope this means that it has some kind of positive effect on tinnitus. I guess we'll know more when the clinical trials in Austria are complete.

There are some people that say caroverine is ineffective for tinnitus which is why it's been available but unused. Perhaps someone in India figured out a better delivery mechanism.

$75 an hour for therapy seems completely normal to me. I talked to a therapist last week who works with multiple sclerosis patients and she charged $80 an hour. Heck my ENT charged me $200 for 30 minutes and he didnt know jack about tinnitus. Being paid for public speaking is also pretty normal.

Maybe Kevin Hogan is a phony and maybe hes not. I have his book and it seemed packed full of good information. He also puts a lot of that information out on the web for free.

Personally I think hes a bit sketchy with all his other books on persuasion and covert hypnosis. I wouldnt buy his program and I wouldnt pay him for a phone call. I also dont consider him the end all expert on Tinnitus. However I dont mind paying $16 for his book which I though had more information than any doctor could ever give me.
