I wonder if thousands of tinnitus sufferers could compile all of their data on drugs taken, illnesses, and symptoms that we could discover what the root cause for this affliction may be. I know that ATA is probably a big organization, but I wonder if they have surveyed us before. From my personal observations, I think it had something to do with medications that I was on, but I also believe that my high frequency hearing loss played a part. This struck me out of the blue at 59 years old and I had no idea that someone's ears could ring 24/7.
I have found that time (15 months) has helped me to cope. I could survive the way the ringing has been under control the last month or two, but the few months I did not think I could live with the loud t that kept me awake for days. If someone hears of a survey or poll, let us all know.

So why are we all different?
It would be interesting to see what a big survey would come up with. :)

Hug hard and say everything's going to be alright I guess, a good mother at best... "a sincere and hopeful promise?"
My t is a great accompaniment to the passing ambulance with the car windows rolled up and my middle fingers in my ears. I'm guessing so is yours. The passing fire truck is a momentary relief.

Most of us have accepted good things for many years with an expectation that we deserve good blessings because we are decent people and a holy woman endures extreme poverty.
I slept minutes a day and night and forced myself to nibble like a mouse for too long and eating good food was a chore.
The dawn came slowly but it's only a frequency interference in what's already chaos and it's a cloudy day.
Dad can't straighten his hunched back but he's like a kid again watching his grandchildren play.
Time heals all wounds is a myth this side of heaven (ask the quadriplegic). But time reconciles all wounds is true and when we're mended enough a new affliction strikes. Such is the admission to paradise...Is there a better reason to persevere.
The less I resist the more I accept makes peace in a hostile place.
