I want to tell you that I was "hooked" on it. Wife told me to quit cold turkey so for the next 2 weeks I was in hell but sobered up. Then in 2006 my tinnitus got better and even though it was still there it was softer and didn't pay that much attention to it.
In August of 2009 it started to get worse and it's been getting worse ever since then. Wish I had a better story for you but I don't. Many people have there tinnitus fade over the years so there is hope. John

This site has a lot of "hard cases" including myself. We support one another with kind words, prayers, well wishes, and whatever we find that helps ease the anguish we all face daily..
A little good news comes in here now and then, but this forum tends to have more people that are not doing as well..
There is a T forum on YUKU thats got a lot more people, has a Sucess Stories section. There are a lot of upbeat people there, and "hard cases" are seen as people who just don't get their act together. Its not the fault of the T, its YOUR fault for thinking about.. Its a more positive place, but a more contentious one as well.. I am a member of both sites, but like the people here better.. I like the fact that YUKU moves faster.. I check both daily and post on both daily.. Lots of good information between the two sites.. bob

What bebee say's about the 2 tinnitus sites is 100% correct. At the Yuku sight you do feel like a failure for not sucking it up and try not to pay any attention to it. Will admit though it was the first forum I found when I first came down with tinnitus and there was very good information on how to cope with severe tinnitus. It's still there you just have to wade through some bs to find it. I think the best thing for you is to be on both sites. You will learn something.

I went from horrible awful miserable wreck to occasionally annoyed overall happy person in 6 months. I'm only a partial success story as of right now because I do occasionally have my moments of annoyance, but it might be the kind of thing you are looking for if you haven't already.
Just thought that new bit of info may help you. Yes it is possible for T to get softer. I don't know if it's actually any softer or I'm just habituating, but either way my perception of it has gone down dramatically.
