spike from loud banging in ear for hours - 1 week
neilster
for anyone who's been listening to me, it's over... i'm back to baseline.
for those who weren't.. i was utterly distraught last saturday when i woke up after friday night where i was a few hours in a protest where people were banging pots and pans with the aim of disturbing the peace.
I never had a spike that brought me back to square ONE like as bad as the first day i got it.. but this was it... saturday and sunday were utter hell, my entire head was buzzing, i thought i was ruined again for months or forever.
well.. slowly but relatively quickly compared to the first time (a few months) i went through the stages:
- all head buzzing loud with neck and whining
- all head buzzing loud no neck or whining
- half head buzzing loud still enough to be depressed all day
- only buzzing in the ear area
- only buzzing in the actual ear
- buzzing turns into single tone (less feeling, more just a sound)
- single tone turns into barely audible crickets
along the way i was popping CQ10 (ubiquinol), vitame e, magnesium, and multivitamins along with antioxydant oil 1/day.
Here's the question that's on my head now.
If I can go from a level 1 to a level 10 overnight, and then back to a level 1 within the next week.. why the F**** can i not beat this thing down to a level ZERO??
Here's the answer i came up with:
more noise = louder tinnitus
less noise = lower tinnitus
no noise at all = no tinnitus
i believe if i shut my ears off with some sort of magical sound sealant and popped my vitamins and stayed healthy for a while (a month?) the tinnitus thing might actually be gone permanently.
The catch is in life it is practically if not literally impossible to avoid all noise as long as we have ears..
I think it's a feedback effect.. i always have.. deaf people can't stop the feedback like people with hearing can... i think if you have some hearing and your brain can identify silence there is a chance.
But hey, what do i know, i'm just another tinnitus sufferer stabbing into the dark, but still.. from a level 10 down to level 1 in a week, still can't get to level 0 over the next year?? Its hard to accept.

Just gotta be thankful from where you were to where you are now, which is much much better. Remember our brain craves noise so if you plug your ears tinnitus can get worse and we cant live a perfectly quiet environment unless we move to the mountains and live in cabins with no appliance and modern conveniences and no neighbors, although it sounds good.
