my right ear only
had it about 20 yrs approx.
discomfort/pain 0
4years and has been very low
Both ears, right worst
had since november 2007
I have had it for 11 years now and it is in my right ear.
Have had this for 25 years, and in the last few months it has started to get worse.
Since March 2011/past 4 months, I had a sudden onset of tinnitus which woke me up one morning out of the blue, can not identify the cause, it was a loud hissing in right ear.
Mornings right ear....1-10 (5) but it improves after I am up for a while.
Afternoons...1-10 (3) usually tolerable
Evenings...1-10 (3) usually tolerable
Anxiety/obessing over T. bad days 1-10 (5)
I have no problmes falling asleep from T, due to my mornings appear to be the worst time for me.
Some days I take little notice of my T, and forget about it. But if it suddenly becomes higher, or hisses on and off I go back to thinking about it and it becomes a higher number on the scale.
I am thankful the volume is not extremely loud in both ears, as some here experience.
0 pain in both ears
Both of my ears ring, buzz, hiss..but right my ear appears more active.

After having it about 5-6 months I could cry almost every night and have severe nausea from worrying about. Now I hear it still but it doesn't seem to bother me because it does not affect my hearing. (not factoring the hearing loss I was born with an adapted to).
I would say around 5-6 months it had to be around a 9 because I could not function. right now (8 months in) I'd say its a 4-5 and seems to be on the decline instead of on the rise.
I have tinnitis and it comes from the middle of my head and causes no physical pain (plenty of mental). The discomfort level is between 5 and 10, as it is 24/7 for me, but worse at night. I've had it for about 12 years, but didn't really know what it was until the last couple years when it started to get worse.
I also feel doomed knowing this is forever.
Have a good day.
I hava t since sept. of 2009- it started in my right ear, now its on both sides. 75% of the time its 7-8 and the other 25% its 2-..
For the most part I have gotten used to it. A very wise man once said to me "you can get used to hell if there long enough" I took that to heart and I will not let this get me down. I would love to find out why some days are really good and others not so.
Good luck to you all.
