They are ok... Pretty much over hyped however... Yes I could hear better, but my hearing is not bad anyway. i was more interested in the Zen "tinnitus management"... meh.. not so hot IMHO... The white noise feature was somewhat cheap, shrill and grainy sounding, and need to e turned way down to not be annoying... The weird bell like "fractal tones" would have be putting a gun in my mouth 10 times faster than my T will.
As i was wearing them, my T seemed less out front as I was hearing more "stuff" from the outside world, and the small amount of white noise from the ZEN, and improved perception of high frequencies did tend to make the T less intrusive, but to be fair, my T was at its low for the day anyway... It would have benn nice to try them for a few hours instead of a few minutes.. for close to 7K, I am not going to jump just yet.. thats 1/3 of what I make in an entire year, before taxes!

I bet some other companies make aids that are almost as clear sounding, with a decent masking sound...probably for a lot less too.. I may go with the widex Clear 440-ZEN,,, or not... In any case, they don't seem like a miracle cure for T... they mat help some however... Not me as yet, but perhaps soon..

btw, the Widex rep was a young guy around 30, and was wearing 2 aids himself... Said he has had severe hearing loss since the age of 3 froma very high fever.... another thing, when you talk, the aids pick up what you say, and amplify it into your ears.. Gives your voice an odd "robotic" sound... It would be easy to get used to in a short while however.. Very small, and comfortable.. and VERY high priced... bob
