questions about Trileptal

Prami did not work for me. It was great medicine for sleep, with no side effects, but it did not help my T at all.

How much Trileptal do you take, for and effective dosage.

By the way, I did not what to go up to 2 mg of Prami. John stopped at ,75, and if it would had worked at that dosage, I would have stayed on it.

I am willing to try medicines, but not in high dosages.

What side effects will I possibly be seeing, if any.

2 mg of Prami a day is not a high dose. It is a standard dose for a Parkinson's patient. .75 mg is a very low dose.

I take 300mg Trileptal a day. I have gone up to 1600mg a day but it really didn't seem to do much better than 300mg. 300mg is a very low dose for Trileptal but it lowers the pitch and volume for me on most days.

I think BobsDream takes 600mg/day but hopefully he will answer here and tell you what he takes. : )

I agree with Mc that 2mg is not a high dose. I just have been lucky so far as i'm coming up on 2 months taking the Prami. I would go higher if I have to.

You are right. I just perfer to take my medicine at a low mg dosage, like you John.

Yes 600mg a day. I took a lot more at one time but 600mg seems good now. I could probably even take 300mg but I'm not sure.

Side effects? Drowsiness for a few months maybe. I also had hunger pains regardless of how much I would eat. That went away. If for some reason I skip a few days all my side effects come back when I start again.

After hearing all this, I think 300 mg would be the dosage I would
be content with.

I understand that taking these meds, having to go a higher dosage, is
is sometimes what you have to do, to make it work for you.

My only concern is, that if I have to stay on these meds, for a very long time, I want to feel comfortable, with what I am doing to my system.

Thank you all, for your imput. I think it's wonderful that there is such a nice group of people, that share their experiences with everybody.

I feel that all this wonderful information, is hands down, so much better, than wasting your time, with and ENT, who just does not have a clue.

All of you, are a blessing, and your support is what gives individuals hope, that there just might be something out there, that can help them, with their Tinnitus.
