I also feel pressure shifts in my ear when the sound increases or decrease in volume within my ear. I also experience muffled hearing during that short period of time as well. The only time that it is pleasurable for me is when there is a slight decrease in the volume after the pressure has been released. I wish music had the same effect on me. Glad to hear that you have some relief. Have a great day/night.
Anyway, I had several massages and when to a chiropractor and all my neck problems went away and I don't think I've really experienced any pain in my ear since.
I think your theory could be right, though. If the brain focuses on the sound from the speakers rather than on the tinnitus noise that could distact it from "generating" that pain.
