Perplexing Tinnitus

You know what confounds yet amazes me about this cursed affliction is that whatever nerves or pathways which are hyperstimulated and sending these sound signals NEVER WEAR OUT like everything else in the known Universe. What gives? I've been dealing with this for @ 5 years now and even though I do have my better days, my T overall is as strong as it was when it first started.

Then I hear stories of people who have had T for 40 or 50 years....Man I need a beer.

I'll join you for that beer. I 've heard that alcohol is a no-no, but it's to pleasant to give up-at least totally!

Geo - never thought about that, but you are right! I'm almost 68 and have had T for at LEAST 35 years... I am getting some relief with hearing aids w/maskers, but lots of $$$$$, too. However, the aids were necessary anyway because of hearing loss. Pat

I have had it 2.5 yrs. but remain thankful for those low days that my God is always faithful to give me, and He gets me through the difficult times. One thing that gets me through is that as easy as tinnitus comes one, it can always possible disappear. Stranger things have happened. In the meantime, I just take it one day at a time, but the important thing for me is never giving up hope.

Yes...staranger things have happened! Sugaboog is correct. I had Fibromyalgia for 4 years and I had heard that it could disapper as mysteriously as it had arrived. I was skeptical; to say the least.

Awful fatigue and all over body pain;like the mega flu! It happened ! It just disappeared. That was 8 years ago; so I have hope and faith that the same thing will happen with T. I don't know how I can have it be almost gone and then LOUDER . Happens off and on. Such a mystery.
