Drugs companys are not interested in single dose cures. Theres not enough money in it for them. If they do pick it up it will probably cost $1000 a pill

I think most of us would pay 1000$ or more for a pill that would stop T for good.

UB has been doing serious tinnitus research for years. If anyone comes up with a cure or viable treatment, it will probably happen there.

I doubt a single pill solution exist. Its probably just a theoretical talking point for the conference.

I also read the article that started this thread, looked up the drug in question (maxipost), and started reading about potassium ion channel modulators. Interesting, but WAY over my head.

When you stop to think about what a complex bio-chemical factory the human body really is... It's amazing we don't just crumple to the ground and dissolve into a mass of water and chemicals.

I'd like to be a volunteer for the human research on some of these investigational drugs. Who's got the skinny on how to volunteer as a research subject?

The article says the drug is Maxipost and R-Maxipost.

I found this line interesting about some of the T research being done: "....how light affects tinnitus... " Hot/cold I could see, but light? Unless they mean laser light...

I have intermittent t and it changes from one day to the next. I assumed that It may have been the night time sleep that changes the t. In an experiment on myself, after I have had a good day, I have stayed up all night in an attempt to keep the t quiet. I could not accomplish this as it was the dawn or the "LIGHT" of the succeeding day that triggered a response and caused a changed in my perception of t.

I have actually have gotten up after a couple of hours of sleep and my t was gone. I have found if I keep myself awake I can go for two days, however, after awhile you have to sleep. And then the day I wake up after the days without sleep I pay big time. Very loud t for a few days.
