yeah...when u tune into it,u will hear it real good......mine has been like yours for 10 yrs now.....this elephant will not eat u[J.K.].............but keep in touch w your doc....

yes i have noises in my head to especially if i have been out to a noise place or if i have listen to a tv programme with lots of noise you think that your going mad

there is no doc in the world that can take care of tinnitis. Its not curablem, and we all just have to learn to live with it., There is no meds, no nothing. Ive wasted enough money on it already just to hear the same stuff. All you can do.. avoid loud noises...and keep white noise running. You have to just learn to live with it.. the more you tune into it the more it will drive you insane. Dont mean to sound harsh, but thats just the facts.

Hi! I just found this site but am bothered by it too. Noticed it after gallbaldder surgery. I had noticed my neck kind of bothered me...like maybe when I was "out," I got moved the wrong way or something. Anyway, the ear ringinig started and hasn't stopped. Have any of you tried chiropractors? Thanks for feedback.

I also wanted to add that other than visiting my EMT who said nothing was wrong, I have not spent $ on pills or doctors, but am tempted because I want it to go away. From my reading on here though, I think it is probably a waste. Ideas?

A good friend of mine is a physical therapist. He says it's very rare, but ear ringing can be caused by neck or cervical spine dis-alignments. I'd guess for some chiorpractic treatments may help.
Concerning herbal and vitiman remedies, none have been of any benefit to me. Mine is a noise induced tinnitus. I wonder how many people actually ask for their money back? All the adds offer a money back guarantee...

Don't believe that nothing can be done for tinnitus. It's not true. There are a few things that can help us. I'am going through tinnitus retraining therapy since Oct.16-07. It's been about three months, and I can truthfully say that my tinnitus is a lot quiter than when I started. It's expensive for the ear generators, but I was willing to spend the money to get some relief. Hopefully as I go along it will get better and better. But only time will tell. Dear fall and JohnK. Thank y ou so much for your responses. Nix on the vitamins...will forget that option. The ear generators I have never heard of. Where did you go to find out about them and what exactly do they do? As for the chiropractor, I thought I'd give that a try as my neck, since my surgery, has not felt the same. That is when my ear also started feeling "full" and the ringing began. I really would like some relief from this. It makes one kind of nervous to have that going on in your head all the time. Then I get scared it will make me crazy or something!!!! Thanks for your help. Louise

Mine are BTE Sound Generators. They clip behind the ear (BTE) and make white noise. I can't say they saved my life but they are saving my sanity. They cost about 1500.00/ea. If you're hearing is okay, they can be very helpful.

Louise, I got my ear generators from Emory University in Atlanta. They fit in your ears like a hearing aid and emit a soft soothing sound like the sound of air blowing very softly. It retraing your brain to eventually not hear the tinnitus. It may take from 3 months to 2 years depending on the individual. Just type Emory University on Google and it will take you to the site. The cost is about $1500 apiece. Tinnitus is aggraviting but it will not drive you crazy and is not life threatning. Fall, How did you hear about the ear generators? I know it is better to not focus on it but, as I'm sure you know, sometimes it seems worse than other times and you do think it will drive you nuts. Hello Deb, Was wondering what kind of surgery you had, if it was anywhere close to your neck/ear/shoulder area. Just wonder if it could be connected and as your healing continues, hopefully the noise will go away?

The noise from the ear maskers doesn't bother me at all. In very quiet situations I wonder if others can hear it and it may concern them and then I'd have to explain...
For me, an external noise is more logical and/or pleasing than an internal phantom sound. I can rationalize and deal with and accept this white noise much better than the high eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee of my T. The white noise distracts and even hides or cancels the real high pitch of my T. It is important to add that my hearing is okay (no signifigant hearing loss). Hope this explains and helps...
