Newbie here... praying for each of you
bebee
I have had tinnitus about 11 days... It was coming on I suppose. Months ago, I noticed I would wake in the middle of the night with both ears ringing loudly, but I would roll over, or get up and pee, and it would abate and I would go back to sleep, and wake each morning to silence.. Until that day when I woke to it, and it never went away... My life has become a disaster and I am unable to function much... ENT doctor as you all know , was useless..
I have high end hearing loss which is common with musicians, but still hear voices fine.. Got a 96% in word recognition in my audiology test which is extremely good, but my high end loss is very substantial.. Never missed it...Thought my hearing was ok for my age and my background of being near loud noise all my life.
Anyway, I am among you now, and am trying so very hard to cope.. I pray to the Lord that I can acclimate, habituate, or have a miracle cure..
I have been shown how many people suffer horribly, that I never realized were suffering.. I will NEVER EVER stop praying for my brothers and sisters that are afflicted.. I have been a selfish person.. my life was ok, and I thought everything was right with my life.
. I have been brought low, and will ask Gods healing on everyone, everywhere that is suffering and in despair, as long as I can think, and function... I don't know how to pray that big, but I will try..
Tinnitus is a curse that I never could have comprehended. My heart aches for each and every one of you, as well as for myself. God help us all.... I am encouraged by those that say I will cope better, or even improve some as time goes on.
I wish all of you well, and will never stop praying for you, as long as i have breath and coherent thought.. bob

" Name A Term Used In Football " ?
The best news I have for you is that for many of us, months 3, 4, and 5 are 10 times better than month 1, as you start getting used to the noise, and develop strategies that work for you and your particular brand or type of T. If you look through previous posts, you will see a dozen or more strategies that are working for most of us. Some varieties of T are more intense and harder to live with, and hopefully you don't have one of those.
Relax, get to know some people, and we'll help you make your way through this.
Loriemar is correct there are many people here with great information and support. So welcome to our family:)
As it is recently posted time will help you cope.
As for now i see that masking works best for T.

It would probably be good to sleep to as well. I got used to it pretty quickly...
I have found I can shock my t silent for a few seconds with it as well, if I turn it up pretty loud and back down a few times... I think the brain signals get scrambled a bit for a few seconds, but alas, they always reassert themsleves in short order...
If I am blessed with a miracle healing this very night, I will always pray for people with this affliction, and anything else like it.. I had no idea what some people must live with..
I am ashamed by that fact, and have asked foregiveness.
I ask God's blessing on each and every t sufferer everywhere on earth... bob

In the past 2 weeks I have wept without control more than I had in the previous 20 years.. It actually helps...
I wish each and every one here Godspeed, peaceful days, sleep filled nights, ease of mind, peaceful, calm spirits... I have prayed and will always continue to pray each of you is cured, and if we can't be cured, I pray we can "habituate" 100%, and laugh at this repulsive hideous condition.. God bless each and every one of you... bob
