At it's most basic, Neuromonics is a series of treatments using desensitizing sound to counteract the noise we hear. Again, it's always critical for to remember tinnitus is not an etiology, i.e., root cause. Tinnitus is just a *symptom* of an unknown root cause or irregularity somewhere along the hearing pathway or brain.
Therapies such as this Neuromonics and TRT are not attempting to repair physical damage, muscle tension, or other irregularity. Nueromonics, like TRT, attempts to alter our perception of tinnitus by desensitizing our perception of the sounds we here.
Between Nueromonics, TRT, and electric stimulation I really feel something significant will surface. While nothing has yet to be proven efficacious for a large group, I feel one of these three -or combination of- will present something significant whether it be intentional or accidental.

My ENT (he actually called me on Sunday evening) doesn't believe in the treatment. "No clinical evidence yet". He suggests therapy instead.
I did speak with an N doctor yesterday. He has treated 20 patients over two years (question: why so few? If this were "the" treatment for relief, why isn't it used by more?) with all 20 having some success.
I also read an article where some of the VA Clinics have purchased the Oasis/Neuromonics unit to treat soldiers returning from the war with T issues.
I would love to hear one positive (or negative) comment from someone on this chatbox that has done/used the treatment. Why hasn't this been used by any of those that have serious T?
It's not cheap, but if my life were in shreds (which it is, sometimes), I'd sure as heck find some way to come up with the money.
Are we afraid of raising our hopes too high? Are we afraid of failure?
A friend of a friend is supposed to start N treatment this month. I'll see what I can find out.
