I get your point. But I must also agree with Sue. What works for one may not work for another. We all have to do what we think is best for us. For me it took about 2 yrs. to habituate and I handle mine much better than I used to.
And guess what.... (drum roll)..... it doesn't happen overnight.
When i was younger and more open minded I used to experiment with a LOT of self-hypnosis and subliminal recordings. I was addicted to such experimenting practically.. lucid dreaming... mind-state control.... perfect memory.... and even though I gave it all up to become an asshole capitalist without much of a spiritual side.... it all bloody well WORKED.
I could tell you a few things with dream/subliminal that even if I heard I would think the guy was lying.... but disregarding T and the neuromonics...... the mind is certainly programmable. It doesn't take years like becoming a concert pianist, almost all the situations i was in took 6-12 months to come about.
(lord i am tempted to go off topic and talk abut lucid dreaming, but lemme just say if you want to freak yourself out, check it out)
In a 6 month period, your are on the way to natural habituation anyway, and listening to the Oasis is no different than liistening to any other distracting music... Same thing with listening to white noise just under the level of your T... If you listen to music you LIKE just under the level of your t, you are accomplishing the same exact thing.. Theres a reason these "sound based therapies" take up to 2 years... thats how long it takes a lot of people to naturally habituate to the unpleasant ringing in their head... Just my opinion... bob

Hey Bob i agree with you mate , .. i learnt the hard way and bought a Neuromonics unit , .. because i was desperate for some relief , but some digitally down loaded Tinnitus sounds off the internet and loaded on my MP3 player would have been just as good, and i could have saved myself 5000 pounds.. what a fool i have been.. Please don't waste your hard-earned money on Neuromonics like I did. As you hear from others here, it's a bogus device and a $5000 rip-off. I had high hopes and was a compliant patient, 4-6 hours per day. I ignored the fact that all the "published research" consisted of studies by the company, and the inventor, Paul Davis. Using TRT now to aid habituation and it's helped a great deal, enabling me to "not perceive" any noise about 2 days per week after 10 months of 24/7 heaing aid sound generators and nite-time sleep machine. Best wishes to all out there, while I chase more cures around the country, since habituation is not guaranteed and is a long journey. We're getting closer, thanks to neuroscientific approaches, vice purely audiiological. Check the Yuku forums too -- Smart folks there, but no hugs.

Exactly my sentiments .. Neuromonics is NOT a cure in any way at all ..
an MP3 player loaded up with some decent Tinnitus masking sounds would do the same job in my opinion .. ive had a unit for a few years now and could kick my self for throwing such a lot of cash away , but im afraid thats what folk do when they are desperate for help.. there's always some one around the corner waiting to cash in on peoples suffering ... Actually Suera they don't give you a fair amount of time to return the player !! they give you just 3 lousy months , and thats no where near long enough to evaluate the effiacy of this over rated and over priced unit < and they know that > .. .. i have 3 friends who have thrown their Neuromonics Unit into their bottom drawer and thats just some of the people that i know ... goodness knows how many more there are ...
