I wish you the best,
As Kasandra said, your hearing doc will make a mold of your ears and send it to a lab that makes them. A pair is about $120.
I only where them when I need to hear nothing. I also have noise reduction of about 17 decibels, and I use those when the noise is not that bad and I need to be able to hear people. ATA.org/store. You can also buy tons of ear plugs at earplugs.com.
You can get any one or all 3 like I did.. They are VASTLY superior to the junk you buy in a drugstore, but they are expensive. Mine were $258..
However thats with all 3 inserts, it would be somewhay cheaper with only one insert. You can always get others later.. Mine were made by starkey, a hearing aid company.. Talk to a local audiologist, they will set you up.
Good luck!... bob
Musicians ear plugs are fantastic. I am still young and try to go out a good bit, but T and H cause problems. I bought them and went out and had ZERO problems. I could hear my friends and the music, everything had just been "lowered" in sound. Almost like if the tv were at 35, these plugs brought them down to 20. Very helpful.
Although I don't wear the all day every day. This will actually cause rebound sensitivity due to not listening to pure natural sounds. Talk with your audiologist about TRT for the sensitivity. It may take long but it can definitely help the T.
I have very mild tinnitus, high pitched tones, lasting a few minutes at a time through the day. I play music a lot in a band , during and after the tinnitus is worse. A friend has recommended to me Quies earplugs, I am going to try these, he says they are comfortable and have great noise reduction but not so much that you still cant hear whats going on. They are on Amazon.Hope that helps.

Excess noise ALWAYS makes my T worse, I tend to avoid extreme noise (when possible) but, if you can't, the ear plugs help.
