You should try it and see how does it go for yourself. Melatonin is great for sleep. Anywhere form 1 to 10 mg is safe and you must take it every night to achive results. Maybe it wont work from day one but after some time it should help with sleep, and perhaps lover t.

I believe the amount that the study used was 3mg a night, so will give that a try

Here is one great study for you http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17942035 . So melatonin decrease Tinnitus in around 40% of all users. In this study they used 3 mg . I will be free to say that in this special case more is better. So perhaps we could expect that anywhere from 5-10 mg of melatronin work better.

Melatonin is great indeed , and it should be used in this case. If your tinnitus is tolerable use just melatonin if not try using it with sulpiride,

One of the many doctors I went to for tinnitus told me to take melatonin, unfortunately I have another chronic condition and the medications I take for that say absolutely do not use melatonin with these medications so I never tried it. Just wanted to let you know though that one doctor highly recommended it.

Melatonin is the best medicine for sleep. I take 5mg a night! Most nights I only need one tablet.
