BOB. I took ,25 and it made me really tired. How do you take this stuff during the day. I have to work during the day, and it makes me tired and drowsy.

Also, how much are you taking, and at what times are you taking it at,

JOHN. Are you still taking the elavil with the pramipexole. Is it safe. It seem like over kill. Because I am taking elavil, and now that I am taking pramipexole, I am not sure what to do.

John, are you taking ,25 three times a day. And if you are, do you spread it out, during the day.

My Tinnitus went quiet, as soon as I took my first .25. My doctor says, take as little as possible.

Because .25, just might be enough, to lower your Tinnitus, and you can just take it at night.

So far, no side effects at all.

By the way, it cost me $20.00 for 60 .25 pills, with no insurance.

For the most part I wasn't drowsy until recently but I'm also on some new meds. I've taken several meds that made me drowsy during the first few weeks but after a time the drowsiness went away. I'd say give it some time, take it slow and see what happens, good or bad.

I used to spread it out over the day but now I just take 2x.25 at night before I go to bed.

Yes i'm at the .25 dose 3x per day. I'm seeing a benefit from it at that level. I do spread it out during the day. Here again it's 6:30 am(as I write this)and woke up with zero tinnitus.

Also still take 50mg of Amitriptyline each night. No side effect's.

Talked with my doctor today and am starting Pramipexole tonight. He wants to me start at 1/2 a tablet twice a day for a couple of days then go up to 1/2 tablet three times a day. After a week, I can go to a full table three times a day.

Hoping for the best, and I'll keep eveyone posted.

lyork, Isn't it nice to have a doctor that will work with you! My doctor has turned me down on 2 occasions when I wanted to try Xanax and Valium. So the guy is not a quack. My doctor said Pramipexole is a pretty safe drug. I hope like hell it works for you. John

John, yes I'm lucky to have a doctor that is willing to help. I took him the abstract of the report and he agreed that is was a pretty safe drug. He wants me to start off at the low doses for a few days to make sure I don't have any adverse reactions to it, then I can kick it up to the .25 mg , 3 times daily. He has also let me try Xanax in the past for my tinnitus (no luck in reducing my T however).

Delta--you woke up with no T!! That is fantastic!!

Pramipexole lowered my T but I don't think it ever took it way 100%. I was up to .675mg/day when I stopped, but was allowed to go up to 2mg/day.
