I have found that distraction is a great method to cope and
I can tell also tell you that stress and not getting enough rest or being sick can and does affect t. At least it does for me.
And in my case some foods can make it scream, such as salt, sugar, and stimulants such as coffee or chocolate. Triggers can be different for everyone.
Your comment about the noise drowning out conversation is very true. I am learning to read lips. Lol.
I, too, have learned to ignore the symphony of noises going on in my head. My goal here is to offer hope to others who are still suffering. When you first get hit with this affliction, it's really hard to believe that you can learn to manage it.
