When I first got the T, last Feb., the pitch and volume was always high. In the last 5 months I do get days where both are low and a much, much more tolerable T. This I can "learn to live with"....the high/shrill like today....ugh...very, very difficult. Can't mask it. I have tracked everything from food to weather and cannot give an explanation for why it changes...I wish I knew as I do whatever it took to keep it at the more reasonable pitch/volume.
I don't know what the paragraph in that book means.

i have read that book by Hogan and all it did for me, was to confuse me even more .. take care Micky

I was reading the post on using medical marj and laughed as I'm anxious enough in a car on the freeway due to my meniere's so I wouldn't want to be anymore paranoid:)! I'm lucky to be able to sleep without hearing the T tho I have sleep apnea 2! Yoga and deep breathing. OMMMM!
I do find altitudes make a difference as it's better out in the desert?
I turly feel less islotated with this disorder chatting with you.
But of course I feel for all of you that also have T., and do not wish it upon anyone.

Three months later it is how are you doing this hour? Sometimes right as I wake up it's gone. A few times right before going to sleep it's nearly gone. Other times the ringing is very clearly present but never as bad as month #1. No reason I can figure out.
Location may not make much of a difference either...I've been on 4 continents and sea level up to mile high Denver since Feb. My vacation err research in finding the prefect environment continues :-)
It sure is an odd disorder for many, here one day, at bay the next, lound, soft, hiss, ring, bells, Oh my!
Masterallan, my travels thus far to find relief for my T., has not included traveling overseas, like your travels.
Your vacation/research sounds interesting and exciting. I am assuming your main purpose for traveling is not truly to find a perfect environment, with hopes it reduces your T.? However if that happens, then what? (chuckle)
My daughter, Chelsea has traveled overseas to Kazakhstan, the flight did not bother her ears. I don't think she had severe T., then, but since after a sinus infection, it triggered her into having T. I noted about her several ear surgeries with tubes on the one members ETD thread.
I have sought out going to higher elvations, since my daughter lives in the mountains. I also live in a area near the Erie Canal, which the elevation changes to get there. My ears pop, and hurt, but I don't think it triggers my T worse nor better. I will have to examine that closer.
I have tried walks in nature, being around calming friends, more pillows, less pillows, less salt, less sugar, working out to increase my circulation, and some. Just about everything but standing on my head! But, nothing really seems to trigger, or reduce my T.. Its almost as if it just has a mind of its own. I feel I hae NO control, which makes it worse.
It does become worse, I "think" if I get upset, frusterated, or up and down doing hard yard work, lifting my grandson in and out of his car seat in the pouring rain, or my elderly mothers walker in and out of the car. if that means anything? I assume ciurculation might cause the increase, BP, but who knows.
I have now seen my family doctor, his assistant, my ENT his audiologist and my neurologist and all don't say much on the cause, aides to help, triggers to avoid, only to lower my BP, and take Vit. D, since I am severely low in Vit D.
Also calm down my anxiety. Could it really be all that easy? They all also say, just carry on.
My ENT, his audiologist, and my neuro all say they also have T. and do not appear to think to much about it.
Again, in my case I feel "worried" due to I have always had T., as I said, when tired, dieting, or very upset. But, this worsen T
"syndrome" if I might put it that way, came on one morning when I woke up, and has not stopped. WHY, why I ask...I know, nobody knows. So, was it because I have been stressed, because I cried because my dogie died after having him 17 years...I just keep thinking, what set it off. But everyday something might seen upsetting or stressful!
If it was gradual, then maybe I would not be so...so worried, but I suppose T is troublesome no matter.
Calady50, maybe we can camp out in the middle of the desert!
Thanks again. Pattylyn
