Sorry for being pessimistic but I would say I've spend close to $8,000.00 on tinnitus "treatments" so I'm done chasing things. I hope they find participants and I hope it helps but I'm not spending money nor hope on tinnitus treatments anymore. In the end, the sad fact is you do have to "learn to live with it" as my very first ENT said. And I thought he was heartless...ha.

I talked to them yesterday, this is something I think is very exciting about it.

Yes, it helps if you live in Texas as you may need several treatments for it to be effective. They hope to have the internet treatment ready later in the year because Dr Dalton has been busy working with the VA. They will have results of a positive study he recently conducted using his method with the VA in Chicago.

The downside to dichonics is the cost. It is expensive to develop something like this and because this project is not receiving any funding, it will be fairly costly (estimated $2000-3000 or more). But to some, treatment and relief from T would be worth it. For others like me, it might me more of a challenge. There is a new bill that has been introduced by a Rep from Maine proposing funding for Tinnitus Research and Treatment, I posted it http://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/tinnitus-bill-tinnitus-research-and-treatment-act.575/, so maybe through something like this and Dr Dalton's connections/success with the VA, he can get the funding.

The cost of TRT or Neuromonics is well over $2-3K, so that cost doesn't seem so bad if they have a high success rate.

Being located in Amarillo, TX is a problem--Amarillo isn't close to anything, really, so it's good Dr Dalton is trying new ways of getting his methods to the public.

Regarding noise cancellation. You can download software at neurotechno.co.uk/downloads.html which induces temporary residual inhibition (TRI) of tinnitus. The TRI effect only lasts a short time, but it's nice to know that tinnitus can be stopped, even if it's only for a short period.
