California Ear Institute/ Botox for Tinnitus???
Mikethe454driver
Ok, here is something.
There is a lot here, I'm sorry for that, but this is possibly something that MIGHT help us?......
An RN that I know, had her Tinnitus "CURED" (supposedly) by this place in Palo Alto. The California Ear Institute. Anybody been there? Anyway, She said that she got an injection of Botox, and it cured her Train going through her head. I, being skeptical, did not believe her. But my Girlfriend, did a ton of research and found this place. They say, that 2 shots of this into your head, will have significant results. Now I don't know what to think. Most of the "cures' I've seen deal with ear/ eardrum/ or blood rushing issues, mine is sourced from my brain! As many of yours are. Will this help or hurt? I can not afford any more "HURTS" if you mean what I know....
Botox is mostly used for cosmetic things, but it's also used for Migranine headaches, and according to this, Tinnitus.

Another Good Side of Botox: A cure for Tinnitus or Ringing in the Ears by Lisa Moore
People receiving Botox injections make up a large percentage of cosmetic procedures. In fact, plasticsurgeryguide.com lists Botox injections as the most popular cosmetic procedure among both men and women. Botox, which is a brand of Botulinum Toxin Type A, has been used over the years for several cosmetic procedures. When administering a Botox treatment, plastic surgeons usually inject a small amount of the product into a patient. Botox injections are used in a variety of different procedures, ranging from wrinkle removal to migraine relief.
According to plasticsurgeryguide.com, there are several cosmetic uses for Botox. A Botox injection regiment is often used to remove wrinkles, frown lines and crows feet. When using Botox as a cosmetic treatment, plastic surgeons will usually administer the treatment to a patient every three months. While Botox will not permanently remove frown lines, wrinkles and crows feet, the injections are proven to greatly decrease the blemishes for short periods.
Botox injections can also be used to treat migraine headaches. When using Botox to treat migraines, doctors will inject Botox into the head, neck and shoulder regions of an individual. Botox is thought to relieve migraines by loosening muscles and relieving the nervous system stress that causes migraines.
Botox has also been linked to successful treatment of tinnitus. Tinnitus is a symptom of several underlying issues and is characterized by internal sound in the ear, and often presents itself as a constant ringing inside a persons ear. Tinnitus has several causes, such as ear infections and eardrum damage. Tinnitus can be a short-term or long-term problem.
Results from a recent study conducted by the California Ear Institute suggest that Botox can be used to lessen tinnitus problems. Twenty-six patients fully participated in the study. Results of the study found that seven patients reported tinnitus improvements after taking the Botox treatment, three patients reported that their tinnitus worsened and seventeen patients reported no change.
The California Ear Institutes study has raised hope for individuals suffering from tinnitus. Several medical facilities and plastic surgeons have begun treating tinnitus with Botox injections. While the Botox procedures do not help every tinnitus sufferer, they have proven to lessen tinnitus symptoms in some of the people receiving treatment.
Like all medical procedures, there are some risks to Botox therapy. In the days following a Botox procedure, people can suffer from side effects, such as bruising around the injection area, minor hemorrhaging and some pain. In rare situations, other severe complications can arise from Botox injections, such as drooping and muscle weakness. People who suffer from multiple sclerosis and bleeding disorders have a higher risk of suffering from Botox complications. A medical professional should evaluate any individual undergoing Botox injections to ensure that they are not at risk of Botox injection complications.

Botox Injections Cost http://www.plasticsurgeryguide.com/botox-injections-cost.html (this is just informational Sweetie)
Last Updated: April 27, 2012
Most Botox surgeons charge a flat cost per body area to be injected, though some break it down by units used per treatment. Rates typically range between $270 and $500 depending on the surgeon and the size of the area.
Most physicians pay the same rate for the Botox itself (around $400 for 100 units).
Are Botox Injections Covered By Insurance?
When Botox is injected to treat migraines or excessive sweating, most health insurance plans will cover Botox. Unfortunately, when used for cosmetic reasons alone, Botox is usually not covered by insurance.
Can I Get Financing For Botox?
Some clinics accept financing through established lending institutions such as CreditCare, or offer their own financing plans.
Botox rates typically range between $280 and $500 depending on the surgeon and the size of the area
Can I Get Botox Injections Cheaper Overseas?
Botox injections are typically less expensive in Latin America, South America, India, or Thailand. Language barriers and varying health care standards are important to keep in mind when seeking medical treatment in a foreign country, so prospective patients should be careful to thoroughly research any Botox clinics theyre considering.
Its also important for patients to make sure that their health insurance covers them for travel, in case of complications.
What Are The Risks Of Cheap Botox Injections?
Botox injections are generally safe, but like any medical procedure, they have risks. Some patients experience allergic reactions to the botulinum toxin in Botox, and patients with asthma or emphysema can develop respiratory problems. As with any injections, infection is always a risk. These risks are magnified when Botox is injected in an unprofessional setting, such as at a "Botox party," or in an unregulated foreign clinic.
With Botox's generally low cost and variety of financing options, these risks seem high just to save a little cash.
The Botox Injections Procedure Explained
If you want to look younger, especially around your eyes and mouth, Botox injections will give you the most immediate and satisfying results. The treatments are, however, somewhat complicated, and should be administered only by a professional.
If you want to look younger, especially in the areas around your eyes and your mouth, Botox is your best bet for immediate and satisfying results.
Injections in Targeted Areas
For maximum effectiveness, small injections of Botox are inserted in targeted areas on the face. The most common position is in the corners of the eyes where crows feet and wrinkles are a dead give away of a person age.
Botox injections
Botox is your best weapon against wrinkles and crow's feet. Botox injections, when properly targeted, can eliminate wrinkles in a matter of minutes.
A professional Botox therapist will place small injections at key spots to paralyze the skin, rendering it incapable of folding or wrinkling, thus smoothing out the surface and giving the eyes -- and thus the whole face -- a more youthful appearance.
Expected Results from Botox
Although the results are not permanent, when the injections have been precisely administered, the positive effect should last 6-8 months (although it may be as short as 3-6 months.)
Within 2-5 days of the initial injection, existing fine lines and wrinkles should disappear, or improve markedly, although in many cases the crows feet are virtually eliminated in a matter of minutes.
Botox injections, when properly targeted, can eliminate wrinkles in a matter of minutes. It can eradicate loose skin and tighten as well as soften your facial appearance
While the face is the most common area for the use of Botox injections, its also important to remember that the treatment is only skin deep. Botox can be used to smooth wrinkles anywhere on the body.
Botox Injections in Neck and Arms
After the face (forehead and the region around the eyes), the next most popular regions for Botox therapy are the arms and on the neck, especially to address the wrinkling under the chin that causes an overall sagging of the features.
Because of the localization of the toxin, you'll also notice that only the area right around the injection will be affected, lessening any negative effects on any other part of your body.

What Are The Alternatives To Botox Injections?
For those who desire a wrinkle-free face but aren't fans of needles or botulinum toxin, there are a few alternatives to Botox.
As with any injections, infection is always a risk. These risks are magnified when Botox is injected in an unprofessional setting, such as at a "Botox party," or in an unregulated foreign clinic. Always go to a US trained professional!
Laser resurfacing, and Retinol or Retin-A, can dramatically improve your skin's texture and appearance, but won't target deep wrinkles the way Botox does.
Injectable dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane can fill and smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles.
Although slightly more expensive than Botox, these products are designed to last up to a year rather than 4-6 months.
