AM 101 has been around for many years now .. they seem to be forever in the proccess of experimenting with new drugs or into a new phase of the next drug but nothing ever happens , and then its on to the next phase and so on... its always next year etc etc .. this has been like this for around 5 years now .. best thing is forget about them and work on a strategy your self .. with the help of others from this forum ... Yes AM-101 has been around for a while. The only thing that keeps changing is the delivery method. Test for the ear injection model started a while ago and some people believe it will work. However, AM-101 is thought to be most effective if giving immediately after tinnitus first occurs. Most of the testing has been done with people who have had it for less than 60 days.

Well there is no way i would have a needle injected through my ear drum and then into my inner ear esp when all the experts say that Tinnitus is generated within the brain.. going around in circles here eh ... every one on this forum has had Tinnitus for more than 60 days so that rules out AM 101 .. and where are these folk who have taken part in these tests over the years ... they are never ever to be found , and its been like that for as long as i can remember ..

October 17, 2011 Auris Medical reporting positive results from phase IIb trial with AM-101 for the treatment of acute inner ear tinnitus.

Thanks Bobs dream i did read all of the posts inc the guy who has had his first injection and not noticed any difference yet !! .. .. to my mind if something like this is going to work , then injecting chemicals into the inner ear should see results within hours,.. and not days or even weeks ..
sorry to be so pessamistic .. i am as frustrated as the next person .. my Tinnitus drives me nuts night and day .. over the last ten years i have had my hopes raised and dashed too many times .. the post below i took off the forum you kindly posted the link and this is more in my line of thinking

Really now,, how will it work on a signal originating in the brain ???.... I pray its a miracle cure, but man, I am very skeptical..

IMHO its like Prednisone in that it will work well on T induced by recent trauma. That will help a few people perhaps in quieting the T before the signals are hard wired I suppose, which is a good thing for a lucky few.
For those that have been suffering with T long term however,it sounds to me like more of the same old snake oil... bob

I imagine if this works at all it will be helpful in a theater of war. Injured soldiers could receive the shot after suffering trauma from noise. Like you said the chances of this working for us might be slim so I won't hold my breath. But as you know, one discovery can lead to another.

i sent them an email recently asking for some details this is what they replied

Sounds like you've done a lot of research over the past 10 years, do you have any belief the vagus nerve or any nerve played a part in this, or are you purely of the hairs/brain camp...

Hey Neilster well im pleased i made you happy .. thing is, ...Tinnitus is a very frustrating illness and can be very debilitating for some folk..
maybe you have huge strength of character and can maybe shrug it off or even partially ignore it .. for others this is just not possible, and they have real hard times getting through the day.. Tinnitus is a serious business to contend with .. It's generated somewhere within the brain.. the tricky part is targetting it with a drug to damp it down.. not possible yet , but will be one day when they finally un-ravell the mystery .. regards from the Hilarious one ..
