Not an expert by no means, but I've heard that when you move your head, jaw or neck and there is either clicking or pain it may be a TMJ issue. TMJ is very much associated with tinnitus. This may be the cause of both of your problems. It may be best to talk to your dentist regarding this issue.

Hi, understandingT. I have another ear condition that causes me to hear things in my body really loud. I hear my neck muscles squish when I move my head. I hear my eyeballs move. When my knee pops while I'm walking, it sounds like a gunshot in my head. If you have a good ENT, make an appointment and let him/her know what is going on. Good luck. I hope you find some answers.

Hi, I am back to this site. Its been very difficult trying to determine what is causing my new sound. Went to my ENT specialist, he had no idea what the cause is. The tinnitus has gotten worse. I was getting about 3 to 4 decently low days before this happened but the T sound now appears louder than my maskers !. I am seeing my audiologist tomorrow. Can't wait. I am back to needing sleep aids to get through the night also. Started seeing a Chiropractor as well just in case it is my neck...I spent a large amount of money on a dentist last year who said he could help so am reluctant to go back to him. I will try hard to try to manage. thanks for the advise.

kasandra, I would take what you read on www.soundsoftinnitus.org with a grain of salt. I found the website to be poorly written, and that always concerns me -- leads me to think it's not a very professional site. So I did some research. The person who owns the website registered it under a furniture company name through GoDaddy. Sounds like a company that might rent out furniture for events. I wonder how much more the furniture salesman knows about tinnitus than the database administrator (me)? Anyone can create a website. Not everything you read on the web can be trusted.

Hi, I am going to post this because I think the information I got today is worth passing on. My audiologist suggestions to help me cope when the noise gets too loud is to add a blue tooth devise to the computer that would go to speakers. That would enable me to hear nice ambient sounds anywhere in the house. Just need to figure out how that's done. The second thing was to pick the time of the day when it is the hardest with the noise to try to find an interesting activity that would be like a reward thing for me. Not sure what that is but will try to come up with something. Sometimes it helps just to go see someone who really cares about your getting better. Thank you for the comments, I have gone to those web sites and found them to be helpful also.
