Also. Why is it when you check the internet there are so many people and places promising relief and even cure from T when doctors and people on here say nothing works? Are these people just out to steal our money?

Next year in Europe, we might have a shot at having this device implanted. It does involve minor surgery.

I think that if everyone that has Tinnitus stepped outside their home and yelled at the top of our lungs we'd find that we are not so alone in this prison.

I have never been witness to anyone all of a sudden getting better. We just have to work harder at having better days. If all of a sudden your T gets better or goes away then we will all be happy to see you go.

I know how to stop the sound, but I am too afraid to ever try that again.

Yes, it is not so easy, but we are not alone, we are in this together and some day we will win this together.

There are those who have a cause for the tinnitus and once its addressed the tinnitus goes away, and I am sure there are those who have tinnitus who dont know the cause and it goes away. Tinnitus is very individualistic, but for many there is no cause, their tinnitus just is. There are also varying degrees of tinnitus, and various sounds of tinnitus, and various ways people cope and deal with it. For the most part I accept that I have tinnitus and recognize that as easy as it came it can go away. I live my life one day at a time. I am a work in progess though. I wasnt always this way. I stressed, I ran to doctors, I chased cures,did I say I stressed? And after exhausting all I could do I came to a point of acceptance. Talking about my tinnitus, going to doctors for it, rating its severity, researching cures, well, I dont do much of these things anymore and it makes it easier, for me anyway. The only time my tinnitus gets hard to deal with is when its high and I have sound sensitivity it hurts my head which I thank God is not every day. Those days tinnitus gets my attention but not as much as it used to. Those days I am gentle with myself and I always get through to another day. I do believe less is more. We all have to arrive at that place in our own time and own way. I hope that your tinnitus just one day goes away, but I hope that for all. Best Wishes! Judy

Well mine didn't quite get better.. it recently split and multiplied.. now it's in both ears, but lower in the previously bad ear. So I can tell you one thing as a recent freshmen in this university of hell.. it definitely changes over time.

Strange thing is now it's louder in the previously 'good' ear than in the previously bad ear... so no longer can i hear the previously 'bad' ear's second droning tone.. just the chirps. Now i have high-pitched chirping and squealing in both ears but I can't make out the lower tone anymore.

This is the perfect condition from someone who's always considered himself a bit crazy to begin with.

To answer your question more directly every guy/gal who's told me they've had it for decades always says the same bloody thing:

"i THINK it MAY have gotten worse"

Nobody has ever said "yes definitely gotten a lot worse over time".

Mine hasn't gotten better, the only thing that has changed is my anxiety about it AND I do get a good day thrown in here and there and I can honestly say that didn't happen the first year. It seems some here have had tinnitus for many years but it was low and didn't affect their lives, it's not until it becomes that high shrill pitch that they end up here. Sounds like that's what happened to you.
