I really struggle with 2 aspects of school work especially: writing term papers and studying for tests. Yesterday I found several many diversions to keep me from studying diligently and continuously. As a result, I still need to study more today before taking the rest. I really need 6 to 8 hours of study time to do well on this test. Today I also need to balance the books, work in the yard for 1 hour and participate in a support group for about 1 hour.

I did much better yesterday with school work. I spent large blocks of time studying and minimized the non essential tasks. I still got up to do things, but they were short and I even took study material with me wherever I went. I also was able to get a significant amount of lawn work done. Today I mustn’t study more, going over all of the material one last time and then take the test. My goal is to take the test this evening before I feel too tired. I also have a goal of cleaning the shed out today and perhaps spraying some weed killer and raking some grass. Part of that depends on how much studying I have to do. I also have support group to do in about 30 minutes. Hope to double up on that and breakfast preparation to be efficient with my time.

Yesterday I again did well with my school work and took the test at 5 pm before I was too tired. The only thing I could have done differently was to write the memorized information on the computer for each biography as a way of studying. That was a technique listed on the study sheet. I will try to do that for the next 2 weeks ongoing, as that material will be the basis for the final. I also did the outside work and began to get ready for the services today. Overall, I feel happy about the content and happy feeling I experienced while studying. It was enjoyable to me and that is the effect I looking for. Now today I must write out the sermon, and I do not want to procrastinate. I want to get it done early, so that there will be no rushing around near the service time.

How do you stay motivated to get all of that done? I get frozen with the overwhelmingly amount of stuff to do

First, I’m pretty happy to have someone to talk to on this topic. I don’t see too much input here. I feel like the journaling helps me to get on track. The motivation comes from the Lord, though. He is helping me through the Holy Spirit to feel enthused about the right things. But as you can read, I still have a ways to go, and different techniques like his journaling help me to get on track.
