I'm nervous because my throat/neck has been hurting the last wk and a half. I went to the doctor and they put me on antibioitic but it didnt take away the throat/neck pain. I found out I had 2 cyst on my throid about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Should I be concerned? Should I get a second opnion? and if so who would I get it from. My test levels came back normal. So I am not hyper or hypo I just have two cyst. They say to wait 6 months to a year and then check on it again. I am moving soon and am wondering if I should get a second opnion from my new primary care. I may need to go in and just sut up an apt. to talk about all the medical provlems I have had.
I had the same thing. The doctor found a "lump" on my thyroid, so we had an ultrasound done. She said it wasn't big, so there wasn't anything to worry about and to come back in a few months, same as you. However, went I went back 3 months later, she felt my neck and said that she didn't feel any difference so we should just wait a little longer. I told her I wanted more just to be sure. They did a biopsy and found that I had papillary carcinoma (cancer). I don't want to make you worry more or scare you, but you need to do what is right for you. Over those 3 months my throat hurt more and I developed a horrible, hacking cough. Let me know how you are doing! You are in my thoughts! :o) Best of luck to you!
