Hi all, Well, its all hitting me at one time. Just got diagnosed with fibromuscular dysplasia. Well, hopefully that is all it is. I will go through further testing to make sure it is not Renal Artery Stenosis. Might be. My 49 year old dad killed over from almost complete blockagages because he was an old hippie and didnt believe in doctors. So whos to say I dont have some kind of inherited stuff from him. My heart is good. Tested on everything. Now they are doing 24 hour urine tests because I have/had protein and white blood cells without infection. several times.
Now about my thyroid. This little sucker has been hurting for a long time. I thought it was my lymph glands because I have a lot of issues dealing with fibromyalgia that make your lymphs swell. So, I would put washcloths on it. Put my stuffed Panda, Mae Leu, next to it, turn my head the other way. No go. Still hurt. Just right now, a pain shot through it. Why? I didnt think there wassupposed to be pain? I have been having trouble swallowing and I have naturally not been wanting to eat. Drinking makes me swallow down the wrong tube and I choke/cough a lot. The only thing that works is popsicles. I eat a lot of those. I have bad pulse tinnitus in my left ear where the growth is.
The growth is weird. It feels like a long piece of muscle. But I checked carefully and there is not one like it one the other side. It is very tender when I push at it. I cant turn my head completely to the left either. It feels hard not mushy and I cant move it around. Its long not round . However, on the right side there is this oval mushy feeling thing that I have never felt on my thyroid before. Before you say anything, please know that I am a woman who knows her body well. I have been telling people for years that there was something wrong with me and they have blown me off. Well, the diagnoses' are coming in like pre-teens discovering the 7-11. Any suggestions? Sound weird? normal as in not normal but makes sense? Any ideas at all or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I had pain in my neck for years before I had an actual "growth" appear on my neck and it grew really quit rapidly. Turns out is was thyca and I waited almost too long for treatment to be effective. I would just bear with the pain that went up to my left ear, thru my neck, sometimes, even into my breast bone, I knew it was a lymph node but not cancer. Choking, the hoarse voice, the uncomfortable "pull", the cough, all teh symptoms, but none of the knowlege of what thyca was/is, until now.
Still get the occasional area and duration of pain, I do know I have some more issues with calcified lymph nodes and have had a re-occurance of the thyca once, so get checked, please.
