Here is what my ultrasound results were.
Right Lobe upper lobe, circumscribed slightly hypoechoic nodule 14x10x14mm. Right middle pole posteriorly, slightly hypoechoic and heterogeneous circumscribed nodule, 24x18x16mm. Right lower pole hypoechoic circumscribed nodule with small cystic changes and bright reflectors, 10x12x8 mm. Left middle pole circumscribed mildly heterogeneous 12x9x9 mm nodule. Left upper pole mildly echogenic 5x5mm nodule. Left upper pole circumscribed, hypoechoic nodule with echogenic rim 3x4 mm. Left inferior pole hypoechoic circumscribed 3x4x5 mm nodule.
Thyroid measurement's: Left 1.4 x 1.4 x 1.1 Right 5 x 2.2 x 2.2.
If anyone knows what these words all mean, let me know. Thanks so much for your help.

I don't know...but that seems like an awful lot of nodules...I only had one. So, even if they are not cancerous, I wonder if they will suggest removing them....are you hypo or hyper thyroid now?
Bon67
Hi Blue, I have been Hypo ever since they gave me RAI for a goiter in 1998. My blood work comes back fine. I take Levothyroxine.

Sorry Bon67, it is all gobbledegook to me, but it's a start, right? Can you ask your doctor what it means?
Bon67
Yeah, I have an appointment with a ENT on Monday, I will go over it with him then. (((hugs)))

Good. Fill us in when you can. Hugs.

Just got back from the ENT. He said my choices are to wait six months and get my nodules re-scanned to see if they grow or to have the surgery. He said since I have 6 small nodules and one bigger one, that that puts me at a lower risk of cancer, but since I had RAI in the past, that puts me at a greater risk. He said he would wait if it was him. I don't want to wait though, I can feel them in my throat. He said most of them are small and I shouldn't feel them. Geeshh I don't know. I think I will give it some thought for about two more months at the most and then tell him to just do the surgery. UGH! (((hugs)))
