This is a private group by invitation only. It is a group for those who have a loved one with a brain injury. This group was not founded by me but I will serve as the founder temporarily as one of the first members.

Well my son said that he was not going to take his Depakote (2000 mg per day) any longer. Says he feels better without it. But he will continue to take the valium when needed. I have to say that I am a bit worried. He is acting a bit manic but that could just be because he is drug free and feeling better. He was using/abusing pain meds. He says he is coping fine and had his "come to Jesus moment" and is trying very hard to keep clean. He wants to take classes online for Drug/alcohol therapist. Not sure how that will pan out since he never finishes what he starts or that it is a manic episode. He has been working around the house helping build my hubby's "man cave" and is enjoying being busy. Now he just wants to keep going and not stop. He has a wood cutting job next week so he will continue moving forward. M<maybe I am worrying for no reason but what can I say I am.

Pam I know it is scary. You just have to be in a wait and see mode. Hoping it will work out ok.

I'm glad he's being upfront with you about this. And I hope he's able to keep the positive momentum.

I am praying for you and him,it so hard, so much to struggle with, there is a slim line between managing drugs and abuseof them. He needs to seek medical help in this matter I think dear. oh take care dear.
