I'am conflicted between beliefs of God and Spirituality.
I'm not sure which one I'am. I was raised Mormon, but something terrible happened to me from several member's and I literally cannot make myself even touch a Bible let alone the Book of Mormon. I feel irritated and angry when someone tells me to pray, or God and Christ will save you.

When I look at those that are religious and I'am not, I see not difference in there problems and mine. Between their prayer's and my lack there of, we both seem to still have just as much bad as good.. Is it the peace that these people feel from prayer that makes it worth living a life of Christianity.
I feel the need to continually challenge God. Maybe I blame him for my past. I begged and prayed for help, but it didn't come.
I hope there is a day that I can find peace with this because it continues to bother me. I feel I need proof. It is probably a very selfish thing to want or expect.
There was a time that I felt close to God. It lasted about a year. Up until I had my first severe manic episode. My world has been upside down for a long time.
Anyway I hope some people read this. I could really use some advice.

I know God is angry at how you have been treated and the book BOUNDARIES by Henry Cloud helped me to protect myself. He has a brilliant website too. You are not alone in this.
Medication, therapy, anger, tears and healing have helped many. Spirit River and P Green in this room may be able to support too. Their very wise in these matters.

I was also raised active LDS and left the church when I was 14. I've found the people who are most spiritually adept and who actually live the teachings of Jeshua (Jesus) are the Native Americans.
About God: God is recondite. "Deus Absconditus". Recondite means 'beyond the capacity of the human mind to even imagine'. "Deus Absconditus" (Latin) means (literally) "God Hidden". Once one accepts this truth, one is humbled by the mere fact and one can reconcile him/herself to not knowing. And once so humbled and reconciled you have an OPEN mind because all the bullshit you've been taught about God, Jesus, etc will disappear into the Ozone. Then God, whatever It is, will gradually manifest Itself to you in ways that only YOU can understand.

I believe churches do have a valid reason for being, but I almost never hear that reason expressed. Churches can exist for the bottom line reason anything exists - that "Love seeks to share." That's an original Spiritriver quote :) Sometimes Love is a verb, sometimes a noun, but Love without a sharing experience isn't Love at all. I believe Sunday service should be a celebration of togetherness and Love. Sermons (if any) should inspire, warm the heart, and be a catalyst for the membership to appreciate each other, especially those attributes that make each member special.
Imagine the feeling within that is generated when a baby is asleep on your chest. That pure, innocent, warm and wonderful feelling of Love is how awareness of our connection to Divine Reality feels. I believe Native Americans attain this feeling through experiencing Nature's embrace. Some cultures attain this level of purity through meditation. Some people see more of God in animals than anywhere else.
Have faith in your own intuition to lead you toward Spirit. Pure intentions lead to clear Truth. That doesn't mean knowing it all, rather, you will know what you need to in the moment.
Many religions use the quote "I am the Way and the Light..." and "the gate is narrow..." to say "our way is the right way," and no other way will do. I say, that the gate probably is narrow because ultimately, there is only one Truth, but the path leading to it is immensely wide, with people coming to this truth from many belief systems, cultures and perhaps other planets or dimensions.
In some cases, saying "to hell with it all," is the perfect first step toward finding and adequately understanding what Live and Love is about.

I have decided I'am just going to try and stay open to God and continue to keep searching for the good in this world. I hope I can find peace and be able to forgive. Forgiving other's is a hard thing to do, but it can really free your soul.
to find it.. end the search... simply stop, sit and breath. this moment as you read these words, simply feel the peace you are... dont label it.. dont look for it ... just feel the endless you that lies underneath all.. that creates all you see , hear and know..
what you seek you are ....

I have learned to belive quietly on my own without labelling it and to be happy for those who draw stregnth and courage from their lord and look at it as a god thing.
I dont go to church but allways try to live by the Ten Commandments and truely mean it, i think the Lords work starts in the community, to me this is where it really counts not up in the Godbox or a church, you dont have to go to church to do the lords work and help for the good of others and really mean it in your heart then your in the right place.
I hope you find peace within yourself.
