On tuesday april 30 we are having my daughter's IEP meeting with her school. She was diagnosed with ADHD when she was five and has been in continual meds as well as therapy. She is now 8. She has now been tested for what most of.her school counselor and psychologist and teachers as well as her behavior therapist believe she might have either high functioning autism or asperger's syndrome . I just want to know what we are dealing with in order to make the best choices for her. I pray for peace in my heart and for all of us involved to have my daughter's best interest in mind. She is struggling a lot these days. :( i know God has His hand in this.

Yes! God is in control but without FAITH we lack the full effect of His guidance and love.

I agree with Barb...trust and faith is the key..we do not always understand his ways...but all will be ok iam sure!

Thank u ladies. The meeting went well. She does however fall in the "spectrum" so we are definitely getting her completely evaluated through her psychiatrist. Autism is just another label...she is still our sweet lil girl. :) at least knowing what she has will allow us to give her the best help possible so she can enjoy her childhood.

She is doing good. I took her to her pediatrician today and she saw her evaluation results. Since they show she falls within the Autism Spectrum she is sending her asap to get a more accurate diagnosis. She thinks it seems more likely to be Asperger's Syndrome, but we will soon know. I am not as stressed as before and for that I am very thankful to God. I pray everyday for strength and He is giving me just that. Thank you Barb for asking, I will definitely update as I find out more. :)
