did you happen to get my mail. i was far more concerned about the NSAID than any opiate. f.f.f. so not what i wanted to hear.
i don't understand how a blood pressure med is going to help you kick fentanyl.
please keep us updated.
I'm only going to take the nsaid once in a while (calm down yolkie).
Heather...I read the patient info that the pharmacy includes and, other than high blood pressure, this drug is also used for ADHD, hot flashes from menopause, withdrawal symptoms from narcotics and to help people quit smoking! Sounds like a damned miracle drug!
I am hoping though that you forgot a piece of your story maybe...???
You have been removed from Fentanyl Patches (ok, this might be a good thing) and, your prednisone has been increased (not fun, but--withint normal medical standards). Melatonin for sleep might be good, it works really well for my son but he does not have CP either. The part you forgot...PLEASE tell me that your doc is providing you a different type of pain relief!!! Melatonin and prednisone are NOT pain relievers.
In support Miss Cherry!
I'm hurting terribly...my legs want to buckle. I just made it through a haircut, have PT in less than an hour and right back here to do 2 more haircuts. I don't even dare take the new med for withdrawal in case it makes me too sleepy to work.
Oh man....I so wish I had some good advice for you. Please let me know how your doing. Everyone is different so I don't want to worry you. How many mcs were you on?
Try drinking a lot of water for starters.
I am here for you if you need anything!
Autumn
Everyone is different and may react differently to predisone but it usually amps up all drugs i would assume withdrawals as well.
The clinic is so unorganized...they let me talk to a nurse who just rushed through the message she'd send to my doc...probably won't address it until Monday morning, though.
A few minutes later, I got a call from another nurse (one I knew this time) and she didn't know I'd talked to one already. Damned good thing the second one called, though. She said we always advise patients NOT to stop this med abruptly...she told me to go back to the 50s, as prescribed, until I could get in to see my doc. She wanted me to come be advised and read the paper they have about the proper procedure!!!
I'm thinking that for the nurse to go completely against my doc's orders, must mean it's that serious. Funny how she didn't seem concerned for her license the way my doc is. It was about safety and relief...go figure.
Problem now is...only my doc can write a script and I obviously didn't get the usual refill on Wednesday. Scheduling takes place in a completely different clinic location and that woman insisted that I couldn't see my doc until October...WTH???? I already have my next 4 week appt.. I can't wait that long or I'll be back where I was/am.
I put on a 50 at noon...seven hours later and my pain is still bad. My legs have been the worst. I've had to cancel all work. My Sister has come down several times to care for my dogs, do my laundry. mow my lawn...she and Mom do everything they can to help me and I feel so guilty.
I've hadto stand so many times while typing this that I don't know how much sense this makes.
