Good morning...

It's a cold one here. After a couple warmer days we're back to sub zero temps. I have a miserable cold...again. I usually catch one cold a year, but this is number two. The last one turned into Pneumonia.

The weatherization crew showed up yesterday and started to work on my house. The attic was open all day so I froze! Same thing will be happening today and then they'll move toward the cellar. They had told me this would be done before winter, but they were too busy. Hopefully, this will make my house less expensive to try to heat next year. I was seriously thinking I'd have to sell my home and I'd hate to be forced into that.

Thanks enigma and thanks for starting this thread today...I am really starting to feel like a self centered hog starting the tread every day. So I really appreciate it when someone else starts it!!

Taking dh in to see chemo dr. Today. I imagine he will start him back in chemo pills right away. Hope they don't make him sick....he is just starting to feel better from surgery.

cherry, i remember you talking about those guys coming months ago. at least, they're finally getting to it. really hope that cold runs it course quickly. i know you've had a rough winter.

dixie, good luck at that appt. i was on Rx anti nausea meds the whole time. maybe they can do that for dh. hope he's on the road to recovery. did you find a sub driver?

my cousin found out her husband's lump was sarcoma, so they're at the beginning of that long road. the carpet cleaners never showed up yesterday, so i'm waiting for them again. just going to piddle around here today. i'm doing a lot of online window shopping and getting pinterest ideas...nice things when you have to wait.

My cousin ( hubby's) is straying como right now. After they discovered it in other areas when they removed a kidney. Praying for him

Good goal to try and spend less on heating, cherry. I'm looking in to some alternative in our addition. It gets so expensive.

Seren, hope the clear er's came today. Love my guy, always early and so reasonable.

Well I'm preparing togohelp mom thro her knee replacement. Scares me and I can't seem to know how prepared she is. I will be there for a week, but then must get back. I have a drs and then the taxes, work, etc.

I talked to her today and she hummed and ha ed about caretaker/ nurse at her home when she was released. I thought this was all worked out. I'm physically (mentally) unable to care for her as she will need. I'm feeling so much guilt, but I can't lift her,clean her etc. hubby is so good to tell me it is ok to leave her to recover with help. We will come down after she has been recovered a few weeks. My bro is nearby, but know ill be the bad one. Sorry. Going on and on.

Cherry, so sorry you have a bad cold. Please take care so it doesn't turn into Pneumonia again! That weatherization crew is a joke. Why would they come in the dead of winter and leave you exposed to the elements??

Hopefully it will help with the heating bill and I get that, but seems like really bad timing to me. They should know better and I'm sure it didn't help with your cold. I rarely catch a cold but when I do it's a doozie so I really sympathize with you and hope you feel much better soon. xoxo

Dixie, I'm sure none of the Hen's feel like you are a self centered hog with starting the thread everyday!! I've never given it a thought as I'm sure no one else has either. You are the momma Hen so that's what you do. You start us all off to a good day. Hey, if it makes you feel better........I can start it. Can you wait till 9 P? lol

Good news that dh is starting to feel better from surgery and I hope that the Chemo pills don't make him sick.

Seren, praying for your cousin's husband and that long road ahead. Hope that the carpet cleaners showed up and it was worth the wait. Hope you found a lot of good deals on line with your window shopping.

Janie, wishing your mom the best with the knee replacement. I've been through hip replacements for my mil and it's not always easy. But I am sure your mom appreciates you being there for her. Surely she knows that you can't lift her, clean her or do what a trained caretaker can do for her. Your hubby is right.....it is ok to leave her to recover with the help she needs. And your bro is nearby so that's good. And stop feeling guilt. You can only do what you can do.

Never be sorry for going on and on. Continue going if you need to. Always here for you.
