Since it was my idea to have an evening check in, I figured I'd better start one! As far as I'm concerned, anything after 5:00 is evening and it's 5:45 where I live.
Well...I did it. I used my magic food card this afternoon. My parents picked me up and I asked to go to the store on the edge of town and I went to the last cashier in the row where there was no one else in line. I'm obviously still coming to grips with this help. I was careful, as always, to buy practical things and mostly all on sale. It's a habit from raising a family and a good one, I think.
My Son and his Fiance are officially homeowners as of today! The closing had to be postponed until afternoon in order to take care of a couple unforeseen issues, but it finally happened. They're bringing up the load of stuff that's been crammed in one of their vehicles all day and then somehow planning to squeeze the bed into the car so they can sleep there tonight! Tomorrow is the big moving day. They had hoped to get a lot of the smaller stuff moved today, but the stalled closing ruined that plan.
My Mom and I are cooking for them tomorrow. They aren't going to have time to be bothering with that and they still have to eat! I should feel a little better since it will be the second day of my Fentanyl patch...counting on it. I also only have one client in the morning so the rest of the day is mine to cook and bake until I drop!
So I have food to cook for myself and I'm too damned tired to bother tonight. Looks like a cereal night. I'm already in my comfy nightwear...waiting for the freezing rain to start. I hope it doesn't mess up moving day too much. They have a very long, dirt, uphill driveway! Yikes!
So...I didn't mean to type a novel. I would have tried to make it more interesting if I had! What's everybody else doing?
Hugs...

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

i've had my left overs and hoping for a good movie.
sweet dreams all!
Just the same, I read a lot of what you all have posted. I know
that Angela is looking forward to a kitchen installation tomorrow, (Congratulations!)
that Empathy has just been dx with a gall stone, (Try not to worry and you are in my prayers)
that Cherry is still suffering greatly with pain and now the sadness of having to seek financial help (You have earned the right to this, hon.)
that Dixie has lost a furry buddy named Jack, (losing a pet is one of the greatest pains of all; so sorry)
that Janie is still aglow about her new grand baby, (Congratulations!)
that Hippy has been down with the flu. (Healing energy being sent your way.)
Well, I won't go on right now. The point being, I am really here reading your posts and sending out my prayers and good thoughts, even though my posts are not as frequent as I would like them to be.
As far as my situation is concerned - well - I wish I could say things are going well, but to be honest, they are not. My pain has worsened over the last year. I have nerve pain covering about 95% of my body. I feel like I am being electrocuted from the inside out, and there doesn't seem to be much that can be done to alleviate the pain. I am in pain 24 hours a day. I continue to go from doctor to doctor looking for an answer, but there does not seem to be one.
I do little projects around the house, to keep my mind active, but physically, I can do so little and am dependent on my husband or others for so much. I thank God for my husband and for my little kitty, who is my constant companion.
In mid October, I started a TV/Movie board here on DS, and it has quickly grown to over 80 members. I am so happy for the happiness this board brings to its members. While I continue to try to spread the word about the board, because of my pain situation, I do very little posting there, myself. I have a wonderful administrator who keeps the discussions rolling along with her intelligent and interesting posts. Tes9579 - I think she is a member of the Hen House, too. She understands my situation and has stepped up to keep the group going.
Well, that about covers it for today. I will do my best to participate in the evening check in. Thank you, Cherry, for starting it.
Hugs to all,
Cindy
Serenity...... Stay safe. We have some scary weather headed our way tonight.
Hippy.... Hopefully this weather will settle down soon and we can both be feeling better when the temps. level out. This 70° weather one day and 32° weather the next day has me really aching too.
Cherry..... So glad you finally talk to Dr. into changing your man like you want them today. Hopefully it will work better for you. Congratulations also on your sons and fiancé's new home.
Muskrat...... Enjoy your son and his family.:) I'm glad you're feeling better today.
Cindi..... We are so glad you're part of this group and can stop in whenever You can. I'm sorry your pain is so bad. Glad you have the group to keep you active here and I'm glad it's doing well.
I'm just getting ready to leave and go to Walmart to pick up a science project supplies for my son. Hopefully I will get back before the bad weather and thunderstorms hit.
I hope you all get a good nights rest.
Hugs
Sorry cherry.....you know I love you!;)
I caught that Kim, and if my doc was that powerful, I might think more of her.
Dixie I laughed about the doc changing Cherry's man. iPads are so much fun that way. Glad you have one though. Hope you made it home in time before down pour. The rain is heavy here but sporadic. We are getting a tornado warning right now. This weather makes me so anxious. The weather radio is making it all worse.
CIndylj and Cindhlady so good to hear from both of you. I always read and reply when I can. Somedays the typing is just too much and I also am a little brain dead when I get the headaches.
Hugs and clucks
CindyLJ, always a pleasure when you surface and can add your voice.
Cindihd, hope it was good eats and you are sound asleep by now
Hippytoo, isn't it just the pits when the head fogs over and everything feels like a stutter in the head, and when it happens too often, you just want to walk away without explaination. To hell if someone thinks you are nuts. Or at least that is how I feel at times.
Cherry. Glad you made it through your first purchase with assistance and the world didn't crash in for further despair. It's already shifting to memory stage and the new order is focusing on something else. Congrats to your son and his fiance.
I had pizza tonight with my baby giraff and his best buddy who I call son #3 because he's been around for 13 years in our life. They are fixing up one cabinet before the builders arrive (long story) so they took over the living room and I can't stand their music. They are soft pale urban teens, not hard core rap gangsters for crying out loud! Oh heavens....youth.
Can't wait until tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.
Angela
