Morning Hens,
Sun is shinning today so that makes me happy:)
I ordered chickens the other day. 16 total ( one was free) but I won't get them until June. Long wait for someone as impatient as I am! I ordered 9 brown egg layers and 6 blue and green egg layers. And then my free chick is some kind of exotic.
I don't have any plans for today. Put my back out again...all I did was bend over. So I am taking ibuprofen and trying to keep heat on it.
What plans do you girls have?
Hugs and clucks

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

how exciting about your new chickens! sorry about your back.
i got a little morning nap after waking around 5 with the mocking birds screaming.
i've been enjoying this spring weather, too. i need to do more indoor work - dishes, getting chicken in the oven, color my hair, then hopefully a nice walk. hope to get all this done!
hugs n clucks!
Darned that back...that'll teach you to bend over. I bet you were picking some bit of clutter off the floor! I hope the heat does the trick. I can't wait for some videos of those chickens!
Serenity...are you really baking a chicken or is it one of those birds that keep waking you up?
I think I allowed anxiety to get a hold on me yesterday and my body is letting me know today. By mid to late afternoon, the patch should start to kick in and give me a little relief...I hope.
I'm going to try to go along with my sister to pick up a few things I need. Wrapping paper and a card are most important as my middle son turns 29 tomorrow. He has become such a responsible, wonderful man and I'm so proud of him.
Hugs and clucks...

I hope your son enjoys his birthday.

Empathy sounds like you are finally healing up. That is a very long walk you did! Would be for me anyway.
Kat what are you planting? I just got back from town. I bought 3 tomato plants, one sweet banana pepper, some marigolds, a blackberry bush and a raspberry bush. I'm so glad my dh is home to plant them for me!!
It has turned out to be a beautiful day here in TN. It's sunny and 62 degrees.....feels like 72.

I don't even know the names of half the stuff I plant. I have about 40 planters around the front deck steps of the house that run around and between some hybrid rose bushes and a few Tropicals....I just go to the farmers Market up the street and buy flats of whatever I think will look good. Always lots of purple. I know I got some hydrangeas, moss roses, pansies, plox, clematis, astilbe, and some other stuff. I usually get 2 or 3 flats at a time and plant each weekend..by the first month of spring, everythings full and we just spend all summer growing big and pretty. I also plant purple jew and english Ivy and it winds in and out between the pots. I keep herbs planted inside the house, but don't do a veggie garden anymore, they're too much work and I rarely eat solid food, so I'd just give it all away anyway. the flowers and plants I enjoy, so they're worth the pain.
