Morning Hens,
Are we ready for Christmas yet? I'm to the point I am ready for it to be over.
We have a dinner to go to tonight... Will be nice. I need to run to Walmart and pick up a gift I thought of for my oldest son. He is so hard to figure out a gift for and this one came to me in the middle of the night.
Update on Jack.... They searched for him all day yesterday and did not find him:( we can't imagine where he would have gone.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

The world didn't end!!!
Today Ive had the bedroom apart! I have a 3 door wardrobe that had feet underneath it, which left a gap that i could never get the hoover underneath easily, so i took them off which involved emptying all the clothes and moving furniture which was next to it etc, it was a mammoth task!
All done and so worth it, its now standing flat on the floor and has lowered it slightly, which has made a difference to me reaching the the top shelf in it!
I'm knackered!

you are two busy hens! i'm just trying to wake up. not good sleep all week...i'm hoping a little walk in the cold will clear my head, then i can come back and do a little bit in the kitchen.
Christmas eve dinner at sister's, Christmas day at aunt's, so i have to pack up the things to take, and do a little bit of cooking which means the dreaded dishes again :)
good day all!
Dixie: I am so sorry you haven't found Jack. I am sure he is on your mind constantly. I think "not knowing" would be the hard part. We had a cat that would come in and out of the house. He had been part of our family for about one year when one day we let him out and he never came back. He wasn't ill or anything at the time, however, we always wondered what happened to him. He was a really good cat and we still miss him.
Empathy: what a workout you had today! It must feel good to have accomplished all that, however, I hope you don't pay for it later.
serenity: You have a busy couple of days coming up. We will have a nice ham dinner on Christmas eve here at home, then spend Christmas Day at home as well. We don't have anyone to visit and since my Mother rejected my idea of going to her house on Christmas eve, we are scheduled to visit with her next Friday. Not looking forward to it at this point.
I have been laying around today doing a whole bunch of nothing. lol My knee is still a problem and it hurts to bare any weight on it. We are suppose to bake cut-out sugar cookies tomorrow. The kids look forward to that every year.
I was very overjoyed a little bit ago when I received an email from a close friend that she had received a package I mailed to her. I decided to surprise her with one of my decorative boxes and she LOVES it! I sent her a purple one and it coincidentally is her favorite color so I am thrilled. Incidentally, this friend is someone I met here on DS about 8 months ago. Her and I are so much alike and get along so well. She lives in Canada, however, it is possible that we might be able to plan a visit sometime in the future.
Anyway, I am so glad to have ALL of you as friends. You are a wonderful group of women and I appreciate all of your support!
God Bless!
Carrie
I am still catching up on laundry and hope to make Almond Roca and Divinity .
Hope everyone has a great day.
