On days when you don’t have much in your life to smile about, watch those who do and you’ll smile too.
A teenage girl blushed when I caught her playfully tickling her boyfriend as he looked for a book in the library – I smiled. A middle aged man got down on his knees and lovingly scratched his dog behind the ears as they waited to cross the street – I smiled. A little girl skipped in bright white shoes that were obviously new, happily kicking her feet far out in front of her to admire them – I smiled.
Sometimes it's hard to smile when your in so much pain and depressed. Take the time to notice those around you....I bet you will find a smile:)

That is so true and what excellent examples you just gave! Those events would have made me smile too......in fact, they DID make me smile as I was reading them, so thank you for that.

there's a few older men who really dress just to go downtown and i compliment them. there are times when it's so hard to see thru the pain, but i try to find something, even a pretty cloud...
She loved it and thanked me several times...her smile made me smile!
