I went to a pain clinic last Friday because my PCP refused to make any more changes or increases until I did. She said they might think of some bizarre thing to test for that she hasn't. Apparently, she doesn't know the difference between Diagnostics and Pain Management.
Some good did come from it, though. I saw the same doc I'd seen almost 2 years ago at that same clinic and she remembered me. This time, my doc sent some notes about me and listed my meds and symptoms. Last time I went, there was nothing from my doc so all that was focused on was Fibro. I had received my first triggerpoint injections and by the next day, I had horrendous spasms ad pain that lasted a couple weeks.
I was able to confirm the same tpe of reaction after an injection in my shoulder since that visit. The PM doc said that it wasn't the contents of the injection, but the actual puncturing of my tissue that was causing such a bad reaction. I told her that even a routine immunization now leaves me feeling like my arm has been beaten up for at least a week after. Now my chart specifies 'No Procedures'. That's such a relief since everyone seems to want to push injections for everything.
This doc also suggested muscle relaxants for the painful spasms I've developed on a daily basis and changing my Fentanyl patch every 48 hours instead of 72. These are both things I've asked of my PCP and she's continued to refuse. I didn't ask for these things from the PM doc...she suggested them to me!
We also talked about investigating further into the possibility of Lyme Disease. That would require an appt. to the Infectious Disease dept..
I have an appt. with my PCP this afternoon and can't wait to have her make the adjustments suggested my the PM doc. I think she was covering her butt by insisting that I see someone else so they could be connected to the decision.
Something's got to give...I've been so depressed at the idea of living like this indefinitely. I'm really hoping this will make a differece. My journey has been so slow and discouraging...

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

It's eased up, but not gone. My neck has started to really hurt, now. What the heck? This is supposed to relax my muscles! I feel just dizzy and uncoordinated enough to know I couldn't take this and then work.
Oddly..increased muscle spasm can be a side effect of baclofen.

How far are you from Canada? No script for good muscle relaxers there. Bought over the counter.
