88FIn 1969 we decided to get married without a big wedding. Most of our friends and family liked large over the top for the time kind of weddings and I did not. First, I didn't see why spending so much money for one day when we have the rest of our lives to live. I have never regretted not having a big formal wedding. Another issue is not liking all the attention. Also, we have gone to big...

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

Autumn
I hope that you are prepared if you do have a power outage.
Autumn, I hope that you are safe as well.
Be safe and take care.
The wind kept up all night, but the power never went out...unbelievable. I'm sure the little surrounding villages weren't as lucky. It's too early for the local news and it's still dark so I can't even see if all the racket I heard during the night caused any damage.
I didn't get much sleep...I know...when do I ever get adequate sleep? I have to perm a very thick head of hair this morning and I feel like I could go back to bed and sleep for hours. I think the last coffee I bought was a placebo!
Now it's supposed to rain until Saturday. It could be so much worse and my heart breaks for the people who suffered the brunt of Sandy.
Hugs and clucks...
my neighborhood was devastated like never before.
hoping those without power will be ok for a few days.
in MA i heard even boiling the water wouldn't be safe even for bathing or brushing teeth, so please check your water. not sure if your appt will happen, so maybe you can sleep.
I am so glad to hear that you are okay and did not lose power. I can relate to the worries of living in an old house. Ours is over 100 yrs old and when the winds are strong, our windows rattle and sound like they are going to shatter at any moment. The whole house literally shakes. I know it is very difficult to sleep with all of that going on and certainly doesn't help the sleep issues you already have.
I hope that things settle down soon so that you can get some much needed sleep.
Hugs,
Carrie
