I feel like this house where I live isn't a Home for me.
It's just a House. . . Four walls, a door or two, a window or two and a roof above.
Just a House as you can see,
It's not a Home full of Love like it used to be.
The Love is gone. . . Where has it gone?
Where's the Home full of Love I used to know?
How about you?. . . House or Home?

88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

It's home for me, but I still have my kids at home.
For me my home is what my husband and I have built together. It is full of memories. Our sons
growing up here. Each of the four grandchildren crawling down the hallway, then one day moving their
little legs in a walker down the hallway. The hallway is where the little girls got in what I called "the flintstone" car and said they were going to Walmart. It is now a runway for their fashion shows.
The hallway is where our little grandson throws balls to grandfather. He learns to putt a golf ball.
Should we have to leave these 3 acres and home, wherever we reside it will be home as long as I have my husband we will make it that. It won't be the same but we will make it. Without him wherever I am it will be a house.

i have an apt which i try to make as homey as possible with many memorable things to look at all around, but it will never be my home. i'm hoping to find a home one day where i really feel comfy and at peace. i know it's in the works.
My son just left home, so i'm adjusting to that.
Dont know whether i can explain this but i grew up in this house and with me and dh buying the house when he moved in. Ive never had the chance to make the "home" as i want it. Silly things you dont think about like ive never bought dinner plates or had the chance to build up that home together as a couple as everything was here already.
Things are shifting slowly, a counsellor showed me what i needed to do and ive put that into practice over the past 4 years, but its slow.
The garden is becoming more ours because simply my dad cant manage it as he used to.
It sounds a callous thing to say, but one day we plan to remove everything and completely decorate top to bottom and buy new items and totally make it "our home"
