So sorry to hear about your dr, cherry. I think drs are paranoid after all the Michael Jackson, type.
I know for one, my and your use of pills is not for recreation, and I would never sell them!
Best of luck, and I hope she figures out you need them!
Hugs and pleasant night!
The kids and I went fishing. I caught one little shad ....too small to keep so we threw him back. We stayed about 3 hours until I started hurting and had to come home.
At least I got out of the house for a little while.
Tomorrow is the last day of school, they go half a day. 16 year old still doesn't have a job:( praying something comes along for him soon!
1-1/2 hrs till bed time. I am counting the minutes!
Hugs to all
The Hen House is here with shoulders of all sizes for you to lean upon. Did your doctor ever mention this revolting change as a possibility?
Winding down the day with Masterpiece Theater.
Hugs to All,
Joanne
I have a shoulder and I'm a great listener. Please holler anytime. Call me anytime. I'm here for you. I also think it's time to change your meds up but not take them away. Opana er is working great for me. I just have extra pain right now. Stupid kidney stones again.
Hugs & prayers,
Marci
I am so sorry. I guess if that happened to me, I would want to know the reasoning behind why this doctor doing this? Does she feel you are addicted? Are they losing the ability to work as well and your doctor thinks you need to try something else? I know for sure they can't just go cold turkey. I guess I do not know the whole story, but I have never heard of a doctor doing this without a comprehensive meeting with you first, not by a letter in the mail!
I would march my tush down there and ask for a conciliation. And if you do not get satisfaction, I would get a new doctor NOW.
Hugs and a shoulder too.

So....this last time we talked about how my pain management first came to be. It was before I met her. She has the records, though. In '07. a MRI was finally ordered to take a look at my neck that had been causing years of pain. The very GOOD doc I'd had for years read the report, looked at me very seriously and said, 'This isn't going to get better, you know.' He started me on Vicodin. A male NP at that same clinic, talked to me about lifelong pain management. He took my pain very seriously.
After a while, I started seeing a Rheumy who also took my condition very seriously and continued the meds. It turned out that she was my current Doc's buddy from Med school. She eventually handed me over to my current doc and let her take over my pain management.
So now, a Rheumy who doesn't know my background, told my doc that I have no need for the meds and my doc accused me of lying to her about what the Rheumy said (instead of reading the report). It miraculously appeared after I left my appt. with scripts in hand. She had convinced me to try Methadone again and go back to the Pain Clinic...no problem. Then the letter told me she wished she hadn't believed me!!! I was told not to increase the Meth as she'd instructed, but she didn't give me an alternative for breakthrough pain!
I wish I knew what 5 mg. of Methadone is comparable to in Oxycodone. I have a few left that I've had to take and when I run out, I don't know what's going to happen. If I went ahead and increased the Meth like I was supposed to and then she wanted to count pills...I'd be screwed.
Dean, my weekly therapist, has sent my story to some doc he thinks might be willing to help. He knows me a hell of a lot better than my doc, but she has no interest in anything he has to say. Same with my PT. I guess she thinks she's above them!
My primary stopped prescribing pain meds because of the new laws. She gave me a 30 day supply and names of some pain management doctors. The problem in Florida is most pain management doctors will not see you if you do not have medical insurance. They refuse cash patients. The only reason I have any pain meds at the moment is because I was in another car wreck. When the car insurance runs out, I will have the same problem.
It does sound like you need a different doctor. There is a patient doctor trust issue going on there.
So sorry this is happening. Praying for you.
Hugs-RJ
I hope your therapist will be able to advocate for you. In the meantime will your doctor work with you on weaning in a proper way. By that I mean just not withdrawing all the med at one time.
I can't imagine how you must feel after what she said to you. Hang on cause you know your pain and if this doctor is unable to see it then it is time for another doctor.
love and hugs
can you get your old medical records and MRI and/or contact that good rheumy? it's pretty sick that we have to work so hard to get decent treatment.
hugs n hope!
I've wanted a different doctor for a long time, but we don't have too many and most of them aren't taking any new patients. I've asked a few.
In the nasty letter, she said she was going to wean me off the meds, but she seems to have forgotten that she needs to be doing it that way now...not in 3 weeks when I see her again. It will be too big a drop the way she's left me.
I drove the long distance to the dentist this morning with my lower back screaming all the way. At least Dean is a little less than 15 minutes away...and I'd walk if I had to!
It is unbelievable a medical professional can be so callous and uncaring. I hope you get the care you need quickly.
Hugs,
Joanne
