88FWhat I do like is early morning clouds and then they disappear and the sun comes out. That was it's cooler in the morning. I'm sitting here looking out the window at the hummingbird with the river and dike as a back drop. It's hard to invision ever leaving but I'm also a realist with aging, especially when the luncheon we had with thirty former classmates on Monday. Sandra, we get news of...

89FToday it is again another hot day but cooler then yesterday. Since this is August it is to be expected in my neck of the woods. All the grass is yellow and flowers are starting to go to seed. I need to water my garden but this time of the year I'm so over it, which is weird because all my plants have their fruit or veggies.Sandra, this time of year reminds me of your Dad and his toms. We'd...

I have been gone along time and I am very pleased to see that the The Hen house is still going strong! Some of the things that I am thankful are:
*My kids...they are my whole world and I love them to pieces!
*My kids get straight A's, and both play in the band. I am very proud of them!
*I not only reconciled with my Mother a year ago, however, the impossible happened and we are very close again. Who knew?
*We have 4 furry furballs that we love very much.
*Yes....Spring IS right around the corner!
God Bless everyone! I think of you often and hope that life has been treating you well!
I have been doing my best to deal with the chronic pain I endure every day. Some days are better than others, however, I am so fortunate to have the continued support of my husband, son and daughter. We set up a bed in the living room so that is where I spend most of my time, including the couple hours of sleep I get here and there. I actually spend alot of time on Facebook. I play a game called Disney City Girl and started a FB group for that game and I am now at over 4500 members. It keeps me busy and is a good distraction. I have also been busy reading every book I can find by famous psychic, Sylvia Browne.
My father-n-law died of cancer in December and since he owned the house we are living in, we now need to move. We have lived here for 17 yrs and I will miss this old house (and it's ghostly inhabitants), however, we will need to find an apartment in the next few months and start a new chapter in our lives. Trying to stay positive about the move. Just hoping we find something we can afford with our limited budget.
Hope everyone in the Hen House has a blessed day!
blessedx2, its so nice to see you again in the hen house : )

I am sorry about your father in-law. A move after being settled as long as you have will be a challenge for your family but could be a good one. Good news with your mom. I remember she was coming back in your life.
Bet the girls are growing. I know how much you love them.
Dixie this is a good post at a perfect time. I would never short change my family but first I must say I am thankful for the women on this board. Each one shows the true meaning of giving and compassion. For that I am thankful. Always I am thankful for my husband who sees my pain without me speaking it no matter how I try to hide it. For his understanding and thoughtful ways. For my grandchildren who bring me joy even on the painful days. For the promise of better weather.
For all of the hens I wish better days. Everyday I read and some days I am at loss for words but you all are always in my heart. I am always wishing for easier days and I am often I inspired by what I read. We have some strong women on this board and some smart ones too.
Most of all I hope none us remain at loss for words or hold back because as a group we all need to hear what each member has to offer. So if anyone is reading and not posting please know you are important here and a missing link.
love hugs and peace
