Halloween isn't as bigger deal here as it is there. Last year we had about 3 visits, there maybe a few more as the kids are on half term holiday from school.
One year we had eggs thrown at the house, that seems to be done by the bigger kids "having a laugh"
Old pple get frightened in their homes, lots of pple admit to keeping the lights off and hiding in their homes!

i used to enjoy going to costume parties and giving the kids walking down the streets candy from our stoop. or go to the halloween parade in the west village. what a show! it will be quite in downtown nyc this year.

they don't really trick or treat in this building, so last year i just sat a bowl of candy downstairs. i may just do that again. i'm not really a candy eater, so it will just be a regular day otherwise.

I live out in the country and there are no young kids on my road so I never get trick or treaters. Wish I did:(

We get about a dozen groups of tick or treaters, so about 30 - 40 children, depending on the weather. Today it is pouring rain out so probably less. I'm in full witch make up and false buck teeth and I'm told I'm freaking people out so I'll wear it to the door.

3pm and weve had our first trick or treaters! Normally they come out after dark!

My close neighbors with very young kids, will be here very early. I want to make some sugar cookies and frost and decorate them...I have all the stuff. I usually make giant choc chip cookies for the neighbor's kids and thought I'd do something different.

It might not happen, though. I've worked this morning and my neck and shoulder hurt so bad that I can barely keep my mind on anything. Oh well...I have a big orange bowl with many little bags filled with a variety of treats. I suppose that will do.

I bought really cute, cloth Halloween bags for my Grandchildren and had fun filling those. Along with a bunch of candy, I put in vitamin water, freezer pops and shower gel!

See...it's not that I don't like to give out treats, it's all the dog wrestling that drives me nuts when I'm already in pain!

It's fast approaching and I need a short rest if I'm going to get through it!

We loved Halloween as kids!!!

I've never been a big costume fan as an adult but I did put on an orange and black T-shirt with black pants. That's as scary as it gets around here. ;-)

Dixie, at first I thought I didn't want to bother with the trick or treaters but then I get so excited that they are here. And also disappointed when they don't show. I felt at first like I had been stood up for a date. lol.

But the most frustrating part is; that by 8:30 pm, I am no longer wearing a bra and getting comfortable. Unless I have company - of course. lol. But tonight I have to stay dressed and ready for the little goblins. They are all so cute.

Cherry, I like your idea of a bag of treats! Please let me know where I can pick up a treat bag of vitamin water, freezer pops and shower gel??

we live in the dush and some years we get as much as 30 kids ans some years we get hardly eney this year we only got 2 so we always bye something we can eat after incase we are stuck with it .................we were moving our daughter all day so we were very tired .....................i got up and i was home alone my husband is gone to visit the gies he goes traping with to see when they are going back in ..................it was a lot more fun whe the kids were small i loved dressing them up i miss that part of it ...........
