Happy Independence Day!
A news story this morning was a tragic reminder of the dangers of what is supposed to be fun. A stockpile of fireworks for a private evening display, turned deadly. In NH, something ignited the whole supply of fireworks intended for an evening show and several people were injured. Most were children and some had to be airlifted to Boston with severe burns. I'm anxious to hear an update as to their condition.
Aside from the obvious potential for accidents, the loud noise also causes terrible stress for some dogs. Someone started shooting off a bunch of stuff last night not too far from my neighborhood. I find it a little irritating since this happens every year right as I'm hoping to sleep and will continue tonight...always does. I'm still amazedthat I can have 3 little dogs who aren't the least bit bothered by thunderstorms or fireworks, but my Sister has a big dog who gets so stressed that it's pitiful.
Dogs can hear things far beyond our capabilities so something that's loud to us, is horrific for a dog to endure. Please keep this in mind as you celebrate this holiday. Our critters depend on us for their safety and wellbeing!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
you are so right about dogs and cats, too.they had them here last night and penny headed for the closet.

I guess that sounded more bitchy than lonely. I don't really wish a spoiled evening for anyone...just feeling so down.
