best to all doing whatever you can and enjoying parts!!
I have been up since 2:30am, and I am starting to feel the effects of it as I am getting pretty tired now. My hubby and son went fishing so my daughter and I are just relaxing in front of the TV.
There's something that I really need to get off my chest if you don't mind. Although I am generally a positive person, I am having a difficult time right now. I have been thinking alot about friendships and how nice it is when you have them. The problem is......I am nearly 49 yrs old and I don't have 1 darn friend that I can talk to, to invite over for some girl talk, to have a cup of coffee, etc.. My mother used to be one of my best friends but we have not talked in over 3 yrs due to a falling out. I have tried talking about the loss of my Mother to 2 of my so called "friends", but they choose to ignore the subject as if the situation didn't exist. I mean, if you don't know what to say, then just say that....you know? At least ACKNOWLEDGE that I even brought it up. I was very close to my father as well, however, he passed away a few years ago due to diabetes complications. I wish he were still here, because he was a very compassionate person and someone I could always count on.
Even my 2 brothers never call or ask me how I am doing and one of them is a nurse! I cannot even tell you how hurtful that is. The thing is....I have always been the type of friend who was very loyal, and sincerely cared and loved my friends, and supported them in anything they had going on, however, I have NEVER received the same love and support that I have so freely given over the years and that is very hurtful as well. I am a huge family person, however, I believe in the power of friendship.....always have but don't know what I ever did to deserve such a lonely life. I have been shedding alot of tears over it and had a wee little "breakdown" at the lake a couple of days ago. I walked to the car and laid in the back seat and cried my eyes out. My husband came over to check on me and when I had dried my tears, he put his arms around me and said "I'll be your friend". Of course, that put a smile on my face and I chuckled a bit. Brent is my BEST friend and my soul mate already, but the fact that he said something, as simple as it was, made me feel better.
I feel a little funny admitting all of that, but that has been on my mind. This probably isn't written very well, but I am a little sleep deprived right now, so please exuse me if I sound like I am rambling on. I am glad that I can talk about this with all of you. I know you will understand what I am going through, at least on some level.
Thanks for listening. I better go for now. I promised Brittany I would watch "Let's Make a Deal" with her. lol She is a big fan of that show.
Hugs & Blessings,
Carrie
Cherry I am sorry you were roaming around so early. Give me a couple of days and I will be there if you are still sleepless in VT. That is about the time the steroids in injection should start kicking.
I have received some of those warm hugs from the hens already and it is nice to be in this chicken house.
Somedays we may not feel like getting out and scratching in the yard but we can always give out a couple of clucks or peeps.
Serenity I am so relating to organizing so you can find something. Nothing more stressful than spending lots of time searching for something you need now. I have done that already today.
Jenna I am sending you a loving hug. You have come along way baby and don't you forget it. Hold that head high. Stand tall. We cluckers are colorful and mighty!
Shoes and Jan sending you both wishes of better and better.
love and peace
