I don't know what to do anymore. The pain and the diseases seem so all consuming sometimes, and yet, others seem to have it so much worse so I feel like I should just shut up and suck it up, you know. It's a survival technic that I use to keep going. But we all have our days, where it does become harder than other days.
I have Graves Hyperthyroid which plays havoc on my body, and I have migraines, which does other crap to me. Then there are the drugs that I need to keep going and I try not to take too many so I suffer for that. I never have chance to rest when I need to. Vacation looks like it can't happen for me until September and that is a horrible long time away for me. I don't know which doctor to turn to because they all shake their heads and say they don't know how to help me, so go see the other one.
I feel like there is such little hope. The migraines are getting worse again and I'm afraid. Now I have this new thing where when I move around, it's like the room around me moves at a different speed and I don't know why. Is it because of I'm addicted to codeine, or I'm having a thryoid storm, or high blood pressure, or ??! My doctor thinks its me coming down from the codeine and to the the neurologist. The neurologist wants to wait and see. They eye doctor says I'm fine. The Endo will see me in August. And I HURT so bad and I wake so many times all night and one minute I'm hyper and the next I can't keep awake. I sleep in my car at lunch break some days and I am so down.
My friend jokenly asked me when she could have her son back and I told her that I need to have him at my place because the boys cheer me up.
I signed up for a clinical trial for depression and they called me today and I don't know if I should go forward and take it or if I'm just going to cause more trouble for myself. What do you think about that? Of course I'm depressed. Clinically and emotionally. Shit, we all know what chronic pain does to us. I know from a very young age that I have depression and looking at my family tree, it is something that I accept I will always have.
Anyways, you guys know what it is to live with this. I guess I'm asking here ultimatley if you think that if I got a hold of depression, if I could better handle some of these other issues. If ,,,,,,, if only I had someone who just show me step by step out of this mess. Its so hard to see what to do when you are so deep in the muck. I keep walking but I can't find my way out.

I have done clinical trials for breast cancer and my husband just finished one this week for alzhieimers (can't spell). It's free advice and sometimes free meds how can you lose?
Hang in there, maybe this will be a great resource for you. If you decide to do it, let us know how it goes.

I used to be very willing to participate in trials, until I met someone whose health completely unraveled due to her participation in one. I know someone has to do it, but I think it is better left to those individuals who don't have other significant health issues. Given the migraines and Graves, My vote would be "no". You are too fragile from a health perspective.
If YOU think you are depressed, then that is convincing enough for me. People usually deny being depressed until they are well into it. Perhaps it would be best to get that addressed properly, at this time, but outside of a clinical trial.
I used to have migraine headaches years ago. I know how bad that pain is. Mysteriously one day, those headaches stopped as mysteriously as they started. There is hope for you.
I hope you get some relief from the pain and anxiety of all you are going through. Believe me, I understand how frightening unexplained symptoms are. They are a part of my daily existence. They, alone, are reason for depression. Then , there is the pain...
I've also battled clinical depression since I was about 12 and when you add a situation that might cause a period of depression for some people, it drives people like us to the edge of despair. My therapist told me that he thinks no amount of antidepressants can fix it.
It breaks my heart to know what you have to push through each day. I wish you could take all the time you need for the sole purpose of focusing on you! I think the pressure of having to work, increases pain to the point of fear and hopelessness. I'm so sorry you're in this position.
Big hugs and great admiration!
I've taken several and they kinda worked but then they put me on Wellbutrin and it was a miracle drug for me! Depression is almost 100% gone. I have days occasionally when I'm feeling depressed but for the most part I do really good on it. You might want to ask to try it. Everyone I know that takes it really likes it and it has low side effects.
I hope you can get to feeling better hun.

i've also had a couple of friends do trials with bad results and i'm just too afraid to submit myself to that. we all react so differently to meds that one person's experience can be the exact opposite of another's who had the same symptoms. it's just so complicated. i wish i had an answer.
if you do go with the trial, be sure there's an on-call professional 24/7 and take notes on all things whether they seem related or not. you never know if the answer is right around the corner.
Tried and true it is.
Thanks again, guys.
