My husband is getting laid off October 26th due to the lack of budget in the county for which he is employed.

I work for the federal govt. One of my fellow officers has lost 50% of her 401K. I keep mine in a G fund..nonmarket. Thank God, people are hurting and so sad.We the people got screwed by greedy bankers. Shame on them!

Oh yes....hubby's 401K is pretty much gone too...

I work in a hospital so theres no talk of cutbacks , shouldnt say this but we need all the help we have so we can treat those having heart problems trying to deal with this financial crisis !!!!!

i work for an agency that separated from the county govt so when the county was laying off lots of employees a few months ago (gee, we knew things were bad months ago!), we were safe. as for now, i have no idea.

my little poor me (literally! lol) rant for the day:
can you believe i went through hoop after hoop last year during contract negotiations, invested my "bonus" in january instead of giving 1/2 to the govt and taking the pitiful rest of it in cash...and now i get nothing!

Outsourcing all of our preassembled parts to China. One of major lines...China. Have laid off in the past few months. All of the overtime that was abundant for six years is gone. We are going to have a rough 2009 the way it looks. I have the ICK feeling all of a sudden and that usually is right on. Should get ready for the layoff

More to the point ARM mortgagees or the ninja loan where no credit check was required job was not verified, I don't think we can blame this one on the Chinese the media may spin it that way though they certainly won't be printing any of the excesses by the banking community nor the derivative bundles that were shipped oversea scloaked .

LOL, what employer? I have been looking for a job for 4 months now with no luck. It is SO aggravating.

The company I work for is doing good. They are buying up a bunch of other companies that are failing. My 401k looks healty. Our stocks are up. They are always shifting people's jobs there though. There has been a wave of cutting jobs - mostly middle management and jobs consdiered 'fluff'.

My husband's company is cutting corners where they can. No Christmas bonus or Christmas party this year.
