I am really sorry to hear that. It really is hard right now on everyone. Does she not realize that this is a problem that is going on way outside of the confines of your house? Money is tight for everyone. Last night my hubby and I splurged and ate Taco bell for the first time in forever. It was really good too as far as Taco bell goes!
It does stink that the money just isn't there like it was and that it's going to the gas tank and to buy milk for the kids and such.
I hope she realizes that it isn't just your problem and becomes more supportive. Right now, I am on the brink of an unemployed household here, delivering a baby in a few weeks. It scares the ehell out of me on what we are going to do to get by. I know that my hubby and I have each other and that everything else is going to work itself out one way or another.
Are you in the states?
Having a business there isn't any state or county avaialble medical plans fo a small business owner? If not could there be something based on income (or lack there of right now)? With my husband losing his job, I spent hours the other day setting up medical for myself (becuase I am having a baby here in 5 weeks) and my other children and husband through the state here. It is about the only thing I can do, I know my husband is stressed to the hilt on how we are going to get through this. I just am sorry that your wife is so frustrated that she can't be supportive right now.

I hear ya there freedom2......40 miles worth of gas or $150+ for a well child visit (that's when they aren't even sick!!!!) driving is the lesser of 2 evils.

My wife has given me to the end of the month to find something and that means a health care plan I cannot afford. My sister, with whom I have broken over for a bad will my parents wrote in 1998 attacked me and a good friend of mine, my one good friends, also took her side of the issue too. All in all I am depressed as hell, broke and wanting to kill myself.

She sounds like my soon to be ex wife. Only caring for herself and her needs. You are worth more than this. Don't get down. There is light in this world. We have had it and we will find it again. Go easy on yourself.

You have my sympathy,My husband and I are in rocky time with our marriage also.
We lost 5 thousand in the stock market and he was demoted on his job with the government.

When the D word comes into the conversation, it is serious. Forced six years ago to take a job "below" me and my skills, I maintain, and I have insurance coverage, my creditors are happy, and I have money left over to occasionally have a dinner out, like a $10 steak at the local steakhouse. It isn't much, but I sustain. It isn't easy, over 50, to get much of anything, but with enough tenacity I got enough to make it manageable. Good luck. I understand her frustration, but is she also working outside the home? Sometimes we have to do things we don't want to, but survival is key here.
