The Financial Crisis Support Group
This community is dedicated to discussing the financial crisis of 2007-2008, which has had a worldwide impact on wealth, jobs and personal security. Our hope is that this community will focus on positive thoughts, real advice for adjusting your expenses and investments based on these changes, and support for one another as we go through this painful period.
There is an email floating around about the idea of giving $1 Million to each family in America to float us out of this financial disaster. It is tongue in cheek but I'm not so sure that is not a great idea.
Actually if the government handed over $1 Million for every man, woman and child in the United States that would total somewhere between $305 and $320 Million dollars out of their budget. A bargain to get us back on our feet.
Washington throws numbers around like they mean nothing - a billion here and a billion there - millions for pork barrel spending that never reaches us. It would seem wise to cut out the middle man - (banks and financial institutions) who could care less about what happens to the middle class - and just give the money to the people.
Anyone want to start a movement?

Thanks for letting me know Sleeping - lol - well it was fun to think about there for a minute but apparently I was brain dead there for awhile.
We called our mortage lender and they are not participating in the government programs to re-mod or re-fi your loan.... of course. *sigh*
I am currently making about half what I was last year.... I mean who plans for a sudden 50% decrease in income? Especially when you are in your twenties just trying to get in the whole game. Now my job is working us to death so they could run on bare minimum employees. This country will be filled with depressed, overworked, underpaid, stressed out citizens if something doesnt give. Creating new jobs is great and all but how about the bills I cant pay? Creating programs to remod or refi home mortgages is great too, but most of the predatory lending was done by the DBA lenders... ours is Wells Fargo DBA ASC which is a complete scam lender. Most of the DBA's are. Our loan was sold to them without our knowledge. What choices do we have? I have looked and looked for jobs- even in a metro area like Nashville there is nothing. We are all feeling hopeless.... Im becoming a bit disgruntled already with this administration.... we are in a disaster situation and we need disaster relief NOW, not a year down the road.
